Most probably is that your driver is not for the operation system that you now have in use..for example you used to have a Xp installed and now you have windows 7 or Vista ..so ...what you have to do is look for an update on the Samsung support site ..for your model of phone ..and the operation system you use...or ..try this software ... you need to upload a driver for Visa. Scroll down to the bottom of the page on the link below and click on your version Vista32 or Vista 64 and download
Which OS you are using? If it is xp the CD that you have get with phone will support and it will detect phone. But if your operating system is vista, it wont support you need to download vista supported samsung pc studio and install it. Then only it will detect phone... Hope you will succeed....
Have you got pcstudio 3 on your laptop? If so remove all Samsung studios. Download the latest pcstudio 7 from Samsung plus USB driver. Put the USB driver on FIRST followed by pcstudio7 then it should work.

then this comes up

you select
2 serial download
the phone will reboot connect you usb lead and pc studio will work
