Freezer is not working. Unplugged it for an hour to clean the coils but coils were not dirty. During that time it was unplugged, mass amount of water came from underneath the fridge. Also noticed when I removed the panel to the back, black round part under the freezer was extremely hot. Not sure what the part is. Please help
That is probably the compressor. There should be a fan close by. When the compressor runs, does this fan turn? The fan must work properly for the entire refrigerator to cool adequately. The purpose of the fan is to pull cool room air over the coils and remove heat. If this heat is not transferred to the outside of the refrigerator, the cooling cycle will not function properly.
If the fan is not turning, it will need to be replaced. These are readily available.

GE side by side model # BSY25GFMWW is not cooling on both sides. The freezer is completely defrosted, cleaned the back coils already. The fan blows air but not coming out cold.
