I'm trying to do what you've said, but I can't press the rpm button.
Turn knop to clock 6 then press spin speed button and turn 7 clockwise same time. Keep five seconds and stop pressing spin button. Then turn clock 13 bakwords and wair. Then off. 5 year old maxx7. Motor brushes was gone so i change them. Only take motor off and you can change brushes easily.
Thanks, I also have a MAXX7, but needed to go from 6'oclock (spin) to 5'o clock (quick wash) and used the start stop button. So the trick. 1. Go to off. 2. Go to 6'oclock (spin) 3. Press start/pause 4. go to 5' oclock (quick cycle) 5. release start/pause. At this point the errors cleared. Good luck. You may need to fiddle a bit. I had to do this twice, unplugging the machine from mains between resets for 3 minutes to get it to remember. I also let it run the quick cycle before switching off.

SOURCE: How to reset the code
Hi F21 error in your Bosch washer relates to a motor or a
control board fault. This can be reset and to reset it turn the appliance knob
to the off or reset position (12 o'clock), turn the knob to the 6 o'clock and
then press and hold the spin button, then while holding that button turn the
knob to 7 o'clock position, continue holding spin button for 15 seconds and
then turn the knob to off. After a minute turn it back on, if the error code is
still there then it means that the motor or brushes in the motor should be
replaced, though it is always better to replace the motor assembly completely. Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance. Daniel

F21 relates to a motor or control board fault.
However, it is also caused by spikes in the mains and can be spurious.
To reset it.
Turn the appliance knob to the off or reset position, 12 o'clock.
Turn the knob to the 6 o'clock position.
Press and hold the spin button.
While holding it, turn the knob to the 7 o'clock position.
Continue holding the spin button for about 5 seconds.
Release the button.
Turn the knob to off.
When your turn it back on it should have cleared the error code
