FREEZER WORKS, REFRIGERATOR DOESN'T

Check first the coils at the back of the freezer. Check for ice. If there is have it melted away and cleaned. If there is non, have it cleaned. If your unit have a fan, check if it is running. If it does not work, have the freon level checked out.

There is one compressor that serves both the freezer and refridgerator compartments. You need to confirm if the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment is working. When you open the door to the freezer, you should see and hear the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment running. Particularly if there is a demand on the unit through the thermostat setting. If the evaporator fan is not operating, you can check the evaporator fan motor with a volt meter to see if it's getting power. If its getting voltage, but not operating, you need to replace the evaporator fan motor in the freezer compartment. There are 3 wires that attach to the evaporator fan motor. One hot wire, one neutral wire and one ground wire. The ground wire is usually marked green, the voltage wire is usually marked black and the common wire is usually marked white. You should get a reading on your volt meter of a voltage from the hot post to the neutral or from the hot to the ground. If it is getting power but will not operate, then it is definitely a bad fan motor that would need to be replaced.

The top freezer is working but lower part refrigerator compartment doesn't cool at all even adjusting temperature to Max cooling??? It is like fan doesn;t blow cold air from the freezer

There is a drain that carries water from the freezer to a drain pan in the base of the fridge. It has plugged preventing water from draining and in turn the water has froze blocking the flow of air to the fridge. First you must find the drain line in the rear of the fridge and unplug it as well as thaw the fridge out overnight to allow the water to drain... be patient as there will be a lot of ice to be thawed out, let me know if it works! good luck!

Refrigerator does seem like its working right

Your refrigerator compressor is either pumping or it is not. Set the refrigerator to low temperature, pull it out and listen for a while to see it the compressor is coming on. If it is coming on then there may be a freon leak or the internal coils may be iced up. If it is not coming on, then either there is no power to the coompressor, or the compressor itself is defective. Use a voltmeter at the compressor to check for voltage. There is also an add on device to start stuck compressors from your local HIVAC jobber store.
