I bought a 32LC5DC Lg tv from an hotel auction. The side panel doesnt work. The thing I need to find is how to access the "setup menu" inside the regular menu. I can get into the regular menu just fine, but the "Setup and Screen" tabs are greyed out leaving me no chance to program channels or change what the hotel had before. There is no lock currently on the tv. Please help. I do have the manual and see nothing about this. I need to know how to access the sub menu "setup". Thanks

I check the lock and it is not enabled and no other place to enter the 7,7,7,7. Is there no way to get into another menu? Is there a way to go back to factory reset? I think I already knew I could call LG to find this out, there is a reason I used this site. cause I didnt want to spend hours on hold with LG.

  • Robert Dressler Oct 01, 2009

I guess no one is listening, sorry. But I stated that the side panel doesnt work on the TV. I tried it and doesnt work. Im starting to think that no one here has the solution. Sorry just frustrated. Anyone else have any ideas?

  • Robert Dressler Oct 01, 2009

OMG, seriously. You guys reading my notes? I don't have access to the panel on the side of the TV. I cant do what you guys keep asking. That is why i am confused. How could you enable the side panel?

  • Robert Dressler Oct 01, 2009

What do you mean a new control? I have a remote. it works fine, the menu is greyed out and i am not able to access the channel setup.

Old post, but in case someone else is searching. Press the menu button on your remote until the user menu stops appearing. Then, press 98765, ENTER to bring up pin prompt. Next, press 9876, ENTER. Make note of any values you change, just in case you make a mistake. Good luck.

The only thing that would cause this is a lock!

If you ever forget your password, key in ‘7’, ‘7’, ‘7’, ‘7’
on the remote control.

If unlocking does not free up the unit menu then the unit has most likely had a software upgrade at some point to disable these functions permanently. This is normal hotel based systems in order to prevent them being used if they are stolen. In this case you will have to contact LG directly with Model no and Serial No details to get them to assist you.

The only thing left is to contact LG as the service guide does not cover anything like this and having spoken to LG in Europe they advise that you need to contact them in your country with Model No and Serial no otherwiswe you willbe stuck with the problem.

I think the best bet is to go to LG for tech support. The side panel is not active because it's a 'hotel installation', and you will not be able to change that easily. There is probably some switch or even hardware change that must be made from LG. It is going to be worth waiting a few minutes with LG to get through to tech support for the answer to your problem. I wish I could do more but this is beyond the scope of this web site and our solutions.

All communications between you and tech are not posted to others to see and that is why you get some of the questions repeated and that to maximize the benefits that you get. the only post everyone see is your original one and for that it is important that you give all information at the first post...I contacted the LG and was told that they do not hve master setup yu need to buy new control...sorry

Your TV is set on Hotel Mode that allows limited access to TV menu.
In my opinion, if you press and hold Menu button on TV for 6 seconds to disable hotel mode and returns to normal menu mode.
Hope that will help you.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Cnannel scan detects no channels

Kingscott,
Make sure the cable connection from the dish to the tv is
connected to the antenna/cable input and not the digital
input. Turn on the satellite receiver then auto program the
set with the receiver still on. If this fails to lock in channel
3 your suspicion regarding a faulty tuner could be correct.
A good way to check the tuner operation would be to hook
up another product such as a VCR with the rear switch set
for channel 3 and see if you can receive a picture from this
device. If it works the tuner is OK.
You can bypass the tuner by connecting an S-Video cable
and (or) a set of A/V (yellow, red & white) cables from the
output of the satellite receiver to the video 1 input on the tv.
You'll then have to switch the tv source mode to video 1.
Hope this of some help,
Caseybee

SOURCE: rgb input is dissabled

If the TV has the lodgenet card installed, Which is what handles the pay per view stuff, there is no way to enable the inputs, if what they stream down from the hotel explicitly disabled the inputs. Only way around this would be to remove the 2 screws holding in the lodgenet card, and pulling it out of the back of the set (Don't have to pull it out all the way, just enough to disengage the data socket. Once the card is removed, you would need an actual LG remote (not the pay per view remote) and hit menu a bunch of times until it stops flashing menu on and off. Once it stops, you type in on the keypad, "98765" "ENTER". This will take you to an installer menu. Scrolling down to the highest numer there is (Should be one backwards from the "000" you start on" there is "Factory Reset" and you use the right arrow key and set it to "1" and then press enter. The TV will flicker a couple times, and then, all inputs are active. Once you are done with it all, pushing the lodgenet card back into it's socket, and installing the 2 screws will put the set back to the hotel settings. Now realize once that card is pulled, you won't be able to watch the hotel's PPV or inhouse channels, only a few Free to guest channels will show up.

My 32lc5dc is in hotel mode and won't unlock I've tried everything

Hi,

Its a long shot but if you could get into the menu, select lock and try code 1105 it might unlock it, it might not.

However, some hotel TV's have a different main pcb, to stop them be worth anything if stolen.

I cant get my remote to go to channel set up in the menu it skips over that tab

You need to set the input mode to RF/TV before you can setup the channels. I'll bet you have it on an A/V input.

32lc5dc lg tv stuck in hotel mode

it is quite possible, if you bought this set from a hotel liquidation, it might still have it's lodgenet card. If it does, then it may be stuck on the channels the hotel had lined up. If there is a lodgenet card (where the cable jack is on the back) you can remove the 2 screws and just pull the card out an inch (leaving it attached to the black cable). Once that card is out, the tv should fall back to normal use. You might need to do a facotry reset to unlock TV options at that point.
