I have an HP Office Jet Pro 8500 Wireless Printer. I was attempting to print from an Excel spreadsheet and got the following message on the printer: Checking Device, process might take several minutes. Do not turn off the device, do not open or close any covers. I waited for quite a while and then went into the Printers and Faxes on my computer and got a message that there was a paper jam. We opened the printer and couldn't find any jammed paper. How do we solve this problem?

>after doing all steps and still the same try to do hardware reset but this will reset the wireless settings on your printer
>unplug power cord from the back of printer while it is still on
>press and hold # and 6 buttons
>while holding them plug back power cord
>wait until printer initilaizes and you see semi full/nvn reset then you can release the buttons
>power back on the printer if it will not automatically power on
>while printer is on unplug power
