If it sounds like metal sliding on metal, then the glides have worn out and need to be replaced. They are little plastic pads that support the front of the drum. When they wear through, you'll hear an unpleasant scraping sound as the drum turns.

Check that all the support springs are connected and one is not broken. It is also possible that something is between the drum and the frame.

Makes loud noise when drying. Sounds like the drum is rubbing against something.

could be one of the rollers the drum turns on, since there are no bearings in a dryer.

Visually inspect the fan and the inside of the fan housing. It sounds like it's rubbing against something or is loose and therefore rubbing against something. May be as simple as adjusting and tightening a bolt or removing something that got into the fan housing.

Squeeking noise are the barron going bad

Squeaking noises are NOT necessarily an indication of bearing failure - but could be an indication of a slipping belt or something else rubbing. The machine itself may be rubbing against a washer, wall, door jamb, or anything really.

Look around the machine. See if it is in contact - or close to ant of these things. When it is running - it could be bumping against something. If nothing is found - have a look inside the the dryer. Inspect the belt and clean the drum where the belt tracks. Repl;ace the belt it is ready to break, missing parts or de-laminating. If you find shiny metal filings - that indicates metal is rubbing somewhere and is likely to be the cause of the squeak.

Good luck.

My tumble dryer makes a screeching noise

Something is rubbing against the drum or the belt is slipping, either case you will have to remove the top cover to carry out further investigation. There are usually screws at the back of the machine to allow removal of the cover. Take care of live wires when operating the machine with the cover off.

My dryer makes a weird noise when running, kinda like the drum is rubbing against something, could that be a worn belt?

depending on the make and model of the machine the drum glides or rollers need replacing,to accomplish this you need to remove the front cover by removing toe kick panel screws and lifting up on cover, you get instructions with the glides or rollers on replacement when you buy them

Hi, If i turn the drum slowly by hand with no pressure it sounds like rubbing something metallic at one point of turn.Logically i think it's not necessarily the bearings as it makes the nose with NO...

Hi there,

if the bearings are failing you don't need to apply pressure as they will cause noise even on an empy drum (you can still put up with this if it's not too loud and it doesn't cause spillages on your laundry). If the noise you're experiencing isn't continuous but it only happens at some point while turning the drum, there is probably something loose within the outer tub, probably the heater, in this case I'd recommend you had it seen by an engineer.
