My uline suddenly stopped making ice. the cubes are very thin although i adjusted the knob to the maximum thickness. Sometimes it works for a day or two then stops again

You should never have to adjust it to the highest setting. You could have a sensor problem or a sealed system problem Or you could of used the wrong cleaner and now the ice isnt sticking on the grid. You can only use the u-line cleaner.

You have to adjust ice thickness sensor it hangs in front of the evaporator at the top it will be white with a 5/16 screw going through it to increase the thickness of ice turn clockwise no more than a 1/8" at a time then let it make a batch of ice. carefuller you don"t want to make the ice to thick this would cause ice to hang up on evaporator plate and could damage it.
This is normally caused by the ice sheet being too thick. if it is too thick it will not drop and break the ice into cubes. holding the curtain open and stopping the machine. when you bump it it lets the sheet drop
Hi, The ice thickness is too thin... turn the screw on the ice sensor IN or clockwise about 1/8 turn at a time till you get the right thickness...give it a couple of dumps before making another adjustment after doing the first one...be careful as the sensor is very sensitive and can be knocked out of wack very easily...
not necicarily, you might first try turning the freezer temp lower. also, set the cube thickness lower (control knob on the side of the ice maker if so equipped) both of these will speed up the icemaker some.
Hi Jorgen
No there isnt a way to adjust the torque. When I get this problem it's usually a leveling issue.Make sure the screws on the wall(2) is tight and not pulling away. And make sure the unit is leveled. The motor is a 3 rpm motor and I wouldnt try to change any rpms because it could cause a flood.
Tell me if this doesnt work.
Check the bridge size adjustment at the top of the metal grid that the ice forms on. This determines the size of the cubes. Whenever you make a repair on the water system, especially on an older unit. make sure the unit is clean. A little bit of calcium deposits (or that other nasty looking stuff) getting into the passage ways will make it run erratically, and can drive you nuts.
What is the model number, there are about twenty different U-Line machine.
