I have a omni 3.0 touch lcd digital camera and it wont run on battery but will plugged into my pc so y not battery?

Here are some suggestions to try and see where the problem may be:

1. Have you tried to charge the battery? We would suggest trying different USB sources (e.g. a USB port on a computer as well as the Nikon supplied AC adapter)
2. Could the battery be dead? If you have tried to charge the battery in the camera via USB then there is a chance the battery is dead and needs replacing. If the camera had not been used for a long time and the battery was stored with little or no charge, the battery may now be un-chargeable.
3. If the camera has been left unused for a long time the internal battery that keeps the time/date may have discharged. You need to be able to set the time/date before the battery can be charged. If you plug the camera into a USB power source and you can see the menu on the LCD then set the date/time.

Could have different causes. Defective battery, defective cable or defective charger. Would be great if you could change the battery, or check the voltage with a multimeter. The voltage should be a little bit more than printed on the battery. If not, it is definitive defect and the camera can't work. It also could be the cable to charger is defect, so the battery can't be charged. Giving the same result, till the battery is complete flat, and then even the light won't flash anymore.

Check contacts and voltage of battery to see if charged. I have same problem with my camera and I have yet to solve. I need to Google for a solution

I have the exact same problem. I was able to charge the battery twice, but both times it ran empty after 20-30 min., and now the camera is dead as a brick. Absolutely nothing happens when I try to charge or turn it on. :(

Sounds touch button array on LCD got disconnected due to over use or might have hard scratch on LCD surface, needs to be replaced LCD in your DSC-N2

jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.
