You didn't give a model so you'll need to select it from the selection below.
I presume you checked that the mute box is not ticked beside the volume settings.
The most likely cause is that the voice file is either corrupted or has become unselected. To solve this problem;
To select or change the voice language on a nuvi 200/205/500/700/705/800/805/1200/1300/1400/1600/5000 series or zumo 600 series device:
- Touch the Tool icon
- Touch Settings
- Touch Language
- Touch Voice
- Touch the Voice Language you would like to use
- Touch 'Ok'
- Touch and hold the Back button to return to the main "Where To" and "View Map" menu
At this time your device should speak in the language you have set in step 5.
To select or change the voice language on a nuvi 300/600 or zumo 400/500 series device:
- Touch the Tool icon
- Touch Locale
- Touch Voice
- Touch the Voice Language you would like to use
- Touch 'Ok'
- Touch and hold the Back button to return to the main "Where To" and "View Map" menu
At this time your device should speak in the language you have set in step 5.
If the voice file is corrupted you'll need to download it from www.garmin.com First connect your satnav to your computer, download the latest version of webupdater from
http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 and install it on your computer. When it's installed it will search for updates for your satnav. After software has been updated it will give you a list of voices you can download. Select the ones you want by clicking on them. Click next and they will be downloaded to your satnav. When they're downloaded you'll need to repeat the instructions in para 1 above to select one on your satnav.
