Try www.ismacs.net/free-sewing-machine- They did have free downloadable manuals, and I believe they are still offering them as PDF files. Does this help you out? Jimmy

Kohl dial n sew model 516SS gripper feet don't move fabric

Thread looping under your fabric is usually caused by not threading the upper tension correctly. With the presser foot lever in the UP position and tension set at 4, follow the threading guides/graphics on the top of the machine. Place the thread spool on the spool pin and secure with a thread spool cap.

Where can I get a manual for a Dial n Sew model # SL 2010

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-DIAL-N-SEW-SEWING-MACHINE-model-SL-2010B/133187178498?hash=item1f02931002:g:ioIAAOSwFTBddY0p

That ebay listing is for the same machine, including a manual. I can't find a digital copy anywhere, but maybe contact the seller and see if they will sell just the manual to you, or even be willing to scan it and email you a copy? Listing is only active for 3 more days!

I have a Koyo model 1250 machine. The upper thread breaks on the 2nd or 3rd stitch. I have tried the bobbing both clockwise and counter clockwise.

The upper thread is hanging up somewhere in the thread path. Try verifying the thread path and rethread from the beginning. It may also be helpful to RAISE the presser foot throughout the threading process. Otherwise, you will need to sew very slowly and watch what is happening with the top thread. You may see the thread tightening as it stitches and narrow down where the problem occurs.

I have a old Elna machine. The air electronic SU 390 B. I have lost the manual and am trying to do buttonholes on a dress. I have forgotten the sequence of nob adjustments to complete the process.

Is this the duplex model with the base that fits into a sewing cabinet?

My Elna booklet lists a SP "air electronic" duplex (CL.39), if so, then it would be same stitches as the 38, yellow front panel, 7 built in stitches and automatic knob with blue markings for buttonholing.

Here is the SU manual images for buttonholing, should be exactly the same for the SP.

tally_girl_4.jpg Instructions are:
use buttonhole foot. turn the 3 dials to buttonhole marked in blue (stitch selection, width and length).
Mark length of buttonhol on the material. Place work under foot with the mark in the middile fo the foot, the start being directly below the needle. sew the first side, raise the needle. Turn stitch width dial to 2, blue. Sew a few stitches for bartack. Raise the needle.
Turn stitch width dial to 3 blue. sew the second side. stop just short of the first side. Raise the needle.
turn the stitch width dial to 4 blue. sew a few stitches for bartack. Raise the needle.
Turn stitch width dial to "fastening off stitch" blue dot. Sew a few stitches, holding back the material by hand. Raise needle, lift pressure foot and remove work, triming off threads.
Open the buttonhole with your seam ripper (put a pin across the end to avoid any nasties).

Making a buttonhole on a Necchi 3204 sewing machine

Here's what the manual says:

Before sewing, fit the button-hold foot to the machine (long white plastic thing with red, ruler like markings).

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the left hand side. Set the dial to "1" position. Sew the left side and raise the needle.

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the top and bottom. Set the dial to "2" position. Sew 5-6 stitches and raise the needle.

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the right hand side. Set the dial to "3" position. Sew the right side. Raise the needle.

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the top and bottom. Set the dial to "4" position. Sew 5-6 stitches and raise the needle.

Hope that helps...
