Really need to know the brand and model number of your dryer, but most commonly, there is a thermal fuse that has blown. This fuse is in series with the motor start coils.

SOURCE: dryer wont react when hit start button

HI, Sounds like Normal 0 , UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the fuse. It is white and ¼” wide and 3” long. It is located on the blower housing. Remove the wires and check to see if it has continuity. If it does not, you need to replace it.
Please let me know if this help or if I can assist you further.

My dryer initially makes a buzzing sound and will not begin the cycle until I give it a few turns manually...

you have a bad motor,if you open the door, hold the door switch in with one hand and spin the drum with the other and have someone else push the start button on and if by helping it to spin it starts usually the motor is bad but i did find on the maytag neptune style dryer that the belt cut into the belt pulley and was holding up the drum and the motor was buzzing like it was bad but like i say usually it's the motor.next time send the brand name and model number and i can help you out better.

Whirlpool dryer makes a buzzing sound whey start button is pushed. sometimes it will turn on for a few seconds but most of the time it just buzzes.

The buzzing is probably the relay trying to start the motor. See if the motor has a capacitor, have it checked. If the motor is all clogged with lint, the start/run switch can get blocked. Clean out all that lint with a vacuum cleaner.
Check the tub bearing, and make sure the drum spins freely.

Drum wont turn.pust start and hear a buzz but drun wont turn

I have found that the switch activated by the door close or turns on the interior light when open on is likely the problem. You may notice that if the door is open and you push the start button, it will buzz. So if the door is closed and you get this buzz when pushing the start button, there is a problem with the door switch. The start button "thinks" the door is open, and therefore not start. The defective door switch needs to be replaced. At least highly likely.

Maytag Performa dryer blows fuse after clothes get hot. I cleaned a large buildup of lint from inside the dryer all the way to my roof. I then replaced the hi limit thermostat, thermal fuse and dryer...

Hello,
their are two possiblities causing that

1) while cleaning the lint from the motor a wire accidently got pulled of of the motor switch

2) to me the buzzing when start button is pushed and may or may not start, the motor is bad

When trying the trick to start the motor by hand the door switch also must be pressed in

You have either a broken door spring or the drive gear in the motor unit is bad. The drive gear is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor and it will be obvious if it is bad.

How to reprogram whisper drive garage door opener , we can close it by the outside pad but not with the 2 openers the openers check at a dealer and he said its ok, just need to reprogram it dont know how...

1)Press and release the "learn button" on the motor unit (the indicator light should glow steady for about 30 seconds

2)While the learn indicator light on the motor unit is glowing, press and hold the button on the remote unit you are using to open the door

3)When the motor unit's light starts to blink, release the button on the hand held remote. The motor unit has now learned the new code.

I hope this works for you!

Does not start

Try this:
Open the door. Hold the door button and have someone push the start button. When they push the start button, spin the drum with your hand. If it starts working, the starting system has the problem.
Usually the start windings are not being energized in the motor. Could be a capacitor but not all motors use them. If it is a motor problem you may want to think about getting a dryer from a place like Lowes. Usually about $200 or so to start.

Kenmore dryer just hums, wont tumble

Try this:
Open door. Hold door button. Have someone push start button. When they push start button, spin the drum wiht your hand. If it starts working, the problem is the start windings in the motor are not being energized. Could be capacitor but not all motors use them. Could be the syntrifugal switch in the motor or something else in the starting system. May want to think about getting another dryer from a place like Lowes. They are usually around $200 and up for a good one.
Good Luck
