I have a kenmore elite dual fuel range model 790.4662* . The oven door is locked and there is nothing in the manual about unlocking the door.

most likely the door locked due to an overheat situation. It's a safety feature on most ovens made today. It may be caused by a fan motor not running properly thus allowing area above oven cavity to sense extreme temperature, blockage in air flow pattern, or a bad temperature control.
Whatever the cause, it's best to have a tech take care of this issue for you to prevent danger to you and your family.

Your model number should be much longer than 790 30 Open drawers and doors to look for the whole model number around the frame.

Many Kenmore ovens have a control lock that keeps the oven door locked even when the self-clean cycle has not been in use. This feature is meant to prevent children from opening the door or using the controls on the oven. To cancel the oven lockout, push and hold "Stop" for three seconds. Wait 15 seconds for the oven door to unlock automatically.

Reset
After verifying that the oven lockout feature has been released and waiting at least an hour after a self-clean cycle, if the oven door remains locked, try to reset the oven. Disconnect power to the range, and wait 30 seconds. Restore power and try again. If the door remains locked, disconnect the power and try to reset the circuit breaker or fuse. Contact Kenmore if the door remains locked after both attempts at a power reset at 800-827-6655.

Simply press the "Clean" button and set a time (Hi or 4hrs is best) it will the lock the door and burn everything inside. If you have silver colored shelfs remove them fist. After its done and has cooled wipe out the ash that has collected in the bottom of the oven.

The LOC feature was turned on by pressing and holding the [STOP|CLEAR] Button for more than three seconds. One must press and hold the same button again for more than three seconds to turn off the feature.

if your locking it to make the light goes off it sounds more like the light switch on the oven needs to be replaced

I had this same issue and consulted the owner's manual. Once on self clean it takes up to 3-4 hours for it to automatically unlock. It is a built in safety feature of the oven.

F90 Maximum oven door unlock time exceeded.

F93 Maximum oven door lock time exceeded.
F94 Maximum oven door lock attempts exceeded.


1. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check the wiring between EOC & Lock Motor Micro Switch.

2. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Replace the Motor Door Latch assembly if necessary.

3. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check for binding of the Latch Cam, Lock Motor Rod & Lock Motor Cam.

4. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check to see if Lock Motor Coil is open. If open, replace Lock Motor Assembly.

5. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Lock Motor continuously runs - if Micro Switch is open, replace Lock Motor Assembly.

6. (F92, 93 & 94) Check oven door Light Switch - if open, replace Switch.

7. If all situations above do not solve problem, replace EOC.


F90 is a door lock code, Try this...
unplug the range.
wait 1 minute.
turn the range back on,
then while holding in on the oven door.
start another self clean.
wait 2 minutes.
then cancel the self clean.

do not release the door until the door lock light goes out.
