My Proform Crosswalk treadmill is making a loud electrical buzzing sound coming from somewhere in the console, and the deck is at it's highest incline and won't move down. It got this way after a lightning storm interrupted the power i'd forgotten to use a surge suppressor. I took the console off and looked inside and it seems to me the only thing in there that could make a noise like that is the large black circular component. I've tried resetting the machine and recalibrating it, but i haven't been able to find instructions online that work.
Good information, you said enough, a lightening storm does the greatest harm to electronics ever. You probably need the manufacturer to help you. https://www.proform.com

Because you are hearing the lift motor making a noise, it sounds like the gears in the motor are bad. The fix is to replace the lift motor.

Under the motor shroud their is a instruction mini manual it will have a how to calibrate the incline motor, if that does not fix it then you may have to manually adjust the incline motor and sometimes it will take awhile to realign . If that does not work replacing the motor maybe the only option

My Nordic Track Treadmill A2250 is stuck on the 12% incline position and it wont go back down and I have tried to reset it by turning it off, switching the reset button to off and then on or even unplugging it several times. What would be my next move?

Of course after you did step and the problem persist, you must test the main motor complete, mechanical and electrical trouble.
sincerely.
