Vizio d55u-d1 no picture or backlights. The capacitors look normal and no burn marks on the boards. I turn it on and the power lights fades, blinks 15 times then shuts off.

SOURCE: Blinking green power light & shut down

There are (4) 1000uf @35V capacitors all together on the DM board that need to be replaced some models have 1000uf @ 16V but they are all right beside each other and all rated at 1000ufs the voltages will be stamped on the capacitor along with the uf ratings.

Does LCD screen backlight come on? If so proceed....
USE:CAUTION WHEN DOING THIS....
Try this if repairing yourself...find power supply, small board with no cover over it...check voltages on output pins/plug/connectors (white plugs) three in a row...
1 Plug has 24Volt supply..1 has 12Volt supply and 1 has 5Volt supply when read to ground (screw that holds board in) if you have these voltages it's a safe bet it's the main control board...I just replaced mine and it fixed a problem like yours.

SOURCE: I have a Vizio VO74L TV almost 3 years old. Last

If the capacitors have blown then it would not cost much to change them all, Capacitors in LCD tv's are a common faulty due to poor chemical compounds used to make them and heat exhaustion, especially with the tvs that have the same chassis. Try changing them all and see if it makes any difference. Vizio or other manufacturers wont say anything as its not under warranty and they dont like people looking inside their tvs :).

SOURCE: Where is the backlight inverter located in vizio sv471xvt?

Larger sets such as the one you have, will have two inverters. They usually are attached to the backside of the LCD panel on the left and right sides. If you don't see them there, then your inverters are built into your power board. If your power boards are either one of these below, then that is the case. If your inverter circuit is at fault, you will have to replace the entire power board.

Are you certain the replacement power supply is good? A defective main board or power supply can cause this problem.

I have a Vizio D55U-D1 LED TV. I power it up and everything works fine for a few minutes. Then the screen locks up but the sound still work. After a couple more minutes it power cycles.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

Vizio D55u-D1 does not power on and the optical light stays off (does not flash orange or turn on and fade) when attempting to power on the TV. Could this be a problem with the main board or power board or...

Hi,

If the status light doesnt light at all the first thing to check is the power board.

If you dont have experience it can be a dangerous procedure, do it at your own risk, TVs keep charge even after unpluging them.

I would check the fuse right after the power inlet and go from there. In my experience about 1 in 10 LCDs have only a blown fuse from a power surge, however it is IMPORTANT to check the rest of the power supply board before testing with a new fuse (i normally use the oportuny to change bulged capacitors and check voltages), if the cause was something other than a power surge it could do a bigger damage and ruin the board.

Hope it helps

Vizio d55u-d1 power light comes on then fades off. No sound or picture. Replaced power supply board, nothing still.

Chances are you have a main board issue, you should have run some voltage tests before replacing the power board, its sad how many people order boards that aren't bad because they don't do the necessary testing prior to ordering boards.

Power Shutting Off on Vizio D50U-D1

Start with the power supply board first. That usually fixes the problem. No need tor the T-con board.
