Do you mean the Panasonic KX-TGA470 handset? The KX-TGA470 handset is the included handset for several models of Panasonic cordless phone systems, including the KX-TG7732. When the ringer is off, the handset should show a bell with a line through it. To adjust the ring volume, press Menu on that handset when the phone is in standby. (The base and handsets are not in use.) After pressing the Menu button, type # 1 6 0. (Alternatively, use the arrow keys to navigate to Initial Settings and press the soft key for Select. Navigate to Ringer Settings and press Select again. Go to Ringer Volume Handset and press Select once more.) Use the arrow keys to select a value between 0 and 7. 0 will keep the ringer disabled. Press the soft key for Save. Press Off to exit the menu.
You can also adjust the ringer volume on that handset by pressing the Volume Up key while the phone is ringing at the base and other handsets. You can adjust the base ringer volume by pressing the + or - keys when the phone is ringing. Alternatively, press Menu # * 1 6 0 from any handset. Note: this phone system also has a silent mode. Press Menu # 2 3 8 to enable or disable the feature. When this is enabled, the handset will show an icon with several Z's.

The manual for this phone doesn't say you can turn the answering machine on remotely, but every one I've ever seen can do so. Most of them say call your number and let the phone ring...and ring...and ring, and eventually the answering machine will turn on. Ten rings is what I've seen most often. I guess the manufacturers figure most callers will hang up fairly soon if the machine doesn't answer, so they pick a large number. Try it on your phone; worst that can happen is it won't work.
MANY TIME A PERSON DIALS WITHOUT REALIZING THAT THE ACCEPTANCE CODE NEEDS TO BE INSERTED FIRST THE Nortel T7316E?...If you want to
temporarily turn them off use do not disturb (feature 85, feature #85 to
turn Do Not Distrub off) Turning off the ringing permanently will require you to program the set. Programming is done on M7310,...regards John
There's a ringer adjustment on the side of the phone. Does it ring in another jack? Does another phone ring in this jack? Panasonic system ringing is controlled by system programming, usually 408-410 or somewhere near there. If the phone works in another jack or another phone works in this jack, then you need to either turn on the ringer or turn on ringing at that port.
You may have to find the programming in the manual, or call your service tech.
Set phones ring style as "Vibrate then Ring" , "Vibrate" , or "Silent" to avoid the power on alert.
I set my ring style to "Vibrate then ring" so that I dont have to change the settings everytime I turn it on or forget to so when I receive phone calls or alerts it still rings & then I dont have to go back and change the settings again when I turn tha phone off so that is dosent have the power on alert.
This is the Only way I have found to turn the phone power on tone/alert off.
Change Ring Style:
-Go to Main Menu
-Settings
-Select Ring style
-Then choose change, & set it to the ring style you want.
On most Uniden phones, just press the Volume up key to turn the ringer back on or turn the volume up, the more times you press the button the louder it will get. Conversely, pressing the down volume button will lower the ringer volume, and on some models eventually turn it off.
