If you have a remote. Press settings or options look for brightness adjustment most likely it will have a long bar vertical or horizontal and use arrow buttons to make it go higher
Normally after years of use these TV models develop a tube light issue that is not fixable through settings
You have to take it to tv repair shop they will install new tube light then your tv will be fixed
Hi Norman Malkin, to adjust the brightness of your Samsung TV, you must enter Menu, select Image, display a list where Contrast Brightness Color and other parameters appear, select Brightness and increase or decrease the brightness to your liking, you may need make Color and Contrast adjustments

Hola Norman Malkin, para ajustar el brillo de tu TV Samsung, debe entrar en Menu, selecciona Imagen, de desplegara un listado donde te aparece Contraste Brillo Color y otros parametros, selecciona Brillo e incremente o disminuye el Brill hasta tu gusto, puede que necesites hacer ajustes de Color y Contraste

SOURCE: The picture on my JVC TV is too dark
On the inside of the TV, on the flyback transformer there should be two controls. Turn the one that says "screen" very slowly clockwise while looking at the pix. The pix should get brighter as you turn it up- if you go to far you will see lines in the pix or the TV may shutdown.

i had the same problem....... on the actual tv u have to press and hold the volume button and menu button together for about 5 seconds and then on the screen it should say dynamic and that hopefully will sort it for u. Worked for me :)
SOURCE: every 30 mins or so, the contrast goes up to 100
Nothing you can do to repair this. I suggest taking it in for service.
