I have command start ...remote wore out ...2001modelcs-555 found a replacement ... How do I program it

That opener will not support home link, you cannot bur remotes.replace it with Chamberlain. You can buy the at HD or Lowe's

first get a chevy then look under the stering column and if there is a few boxes there if there are then look up the model number and see how it works. i found a system but not a remote

Don't go and search for IR codes as you'll waste your time. Use the learning method. Take your bose remote and put it on a flat surface and point it toward the little square receiver on the dish remote (located on the top left side). Then press the "aux" mode button on the dish remote until all the mode buttons light up and the aux mode light starts to blink. Then press the record button on the dish remote for 3 seconds until the aux mode button lights up and stays lit (it then stays lit during the whole learning program). On the dish remote press the button you want to learn but don't hold it down (I started with the up volume) . Then press the corresponding button on the bose remote but hold that down until the aux mode button blinks once and comes back on (if the mode button blinks three times the dish remote did not learn the command and you should try changing the batteries on the dish remote if it happens repeatedly that it fails to learn). Program the remaining commands by repeating the process of pressing a button on the remote, then pressing and holding the corresponding button on the bose remote. Don't be afraid to do it with the mute and the power buttons too. During this process if you don't press a button for more than 30 seconds it will time out and nothing will be recorded and you will need to start again. To end the programming press the aux mode button. When you are using the bose solo using the dish remote you just need to remember to press the aux mode button first so it flips to command the bose solo.

Harmony remotes do no use codes. All you need to do to program your remote, is download the software and enter in the manufacturer and model number of you devices.

Keep remote aimed at the device you want to control. during the programing, the device will send out a "power" command for the device being programmed.

While holding down the device key(i.e., TV) that you are programming, press the "Mute key for one full second. then release the keys. the device key should light up and stay lit. if not, repeat the process.

repeatidly tap the channel up key to step through the codes, sending out the "power command". may take some time, many codes. when device shuts off, you have found the code. If you inadvertantly went past the code, that responded, you can press the channel down key to go back. press the "power key to verify you havent missed the code. In order to lock in the code, press the device key again. the remote will remember the code till you re program it.

the problem is your car is equiped with a passlock system you need a by pass mod. part number 555-L this is a dei part number this is the only company i use. it is a simple three wire hook up. if you got this far you will not have any trouble. one other thing to check is your ignition wirers make sure they have power when they are suposed to.if your still having problems or need more info on getting part let me know. i have alot of exp. with auto starts and keyless entry.
