I bought the pc from amazon used-it came with bootleg copy of W7 I believe, so I've never been able to receive updates/backup etc. I have a disk my bro gave me licensed for use with the registered refurbisher program.
Hmmmm.... Bootleg copies of Windows are not legitimate Windows. You stated that you have a Dell OptiPlex. You may be able to use the DVD that your brother has to reinstall Windows 7. Because bootleg copies of the operating system work differently, you are not able to use most of your computers features. My answer is if you can find a Dell OEM Windows 7 disk on Amazon, try that. If it works, then you had a bad copy of Windows installed.

Disconnect first your canon printer to the pc. if you have CD utility of the canon printer then insert it to the CD/DVD ROM and the install the the softwares. the system will be prompted you to attach the printer to the pc. and follow the on screen instruction..
