It is not that hard of a job, You have picked a topic that is rare for this machine though. Fill issues are not common. Anyway you need to unplug it and turn off the water supply and disconnect the hoses, Check for hinges on the back of the unit that connect the lid to the back. The top section usually lifts from the front edge and you may need some plastic wedge to avoid paint damage while separating. When you lift it, you will see the valve assembly and you just remove the hoses that are clamped to them and then remove the wire connections and then the mounting screws. You put the new in and install it in reverse. Take pics with a digital or camera phone if you think it is going to be confusing. That way you can get itt back the way it was.

There is a water level switch on the machine. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. I am not familiar with this specific machine, but if you will open the rear panel you should find it easily. You can either clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-level switch (easy to do it). Another direction to be checked is the water inlet valve (my recommendation is to start with it, and if it will not solve your problem to move to the level switch )- maybe it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before starting working on it!!!!!

switch off power remove top switch off water and remove hose. remove inside pipe from valve - usually held by just a spring clip remove electrical terminals valve is just held with a couple of screws usually - remove these and valve will come away. put back in same order

Recall on ground and recall on footing. Dryer making loud noise when drying clothes. The Maytag man is dead and gone.

Hello,
Check out the motor control board near the floor on the right side. These have a high failure rate on the Neptunes. Maytag redesigned both the motor and motor control board to be more reliable. While inspecting this board, you are looking for a blown 10 amp fuse and /or burnt components. If you have either... then you will need the the new 12002039 motor conversion kit which includes the motor, motor control board and the wire harness.
See http://www.neptunehelp.com/index_files/Page667.htm.
This kit takes about an hour to install.
Don't forget to replace your door latch wax motor. See www.neptunehelpsong.com to hear a funny song explaining the faulty door latch failure.
Pour 2/3 cup of liquid chlorine bleach into the bleach compartment of the dispenser drawer of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer.
Run your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer on the "Clean Washer" setting. Press "Start" to start the cycle.
Leave the door open once the cycle is complete to allow the inside of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer to ventilate and air dry.
Look closely at the gray seal of the Maytag Neptune front-loading washer's door opening. This seal can have a buildup of debris or detergent residue.
Spray the seal with an all-purpose appliance cleaner and scrub away any debris or residue with a cloth or scrubbing pad. Dry with a clean cloth.
Remove the soap dispenser drawer. Press the release lever and lift it out to clean.
Take out the inserts and rinse them and the drawer thoroughly.
Wash with a mild soap and cloth to remove any residue. Dry thoroughly before replacing.
