I am assuming you know at least something about fishing with a baitcast reel. If you do not, make sure you release the thumb button when you cast.
Chances are your line is either tangled or dirty on the inside. Also, the longer the line sits on the spool, the "curlier" it becomes, making it more difficult to get a good cast. I would suggest replacing your line.
If that doesn't help, then its possible that the release pin isn't releasing when the button is released. If this is the case, it is probably time for a new reel. Zebco 33's are inexpensive, and not really worth the trouble to try and repair- better to just invest in a new one.
you have to release the button after you start your cast, distance, height and length of cast is determined by where you release the button inside the forward arc of your cast, just like throwing a baseball.
The Thermocouple, which keeps the flame lit, when in operation, but stops the gas flow if the pilot goes out has failed and will need to be replaced. You can purchase one online, directly from Blue Rhino.
Sounds like your drag is too loose. Best way to get used to setting a baitcaster, in my opinion, is to put a 1/2 ounce weight on the end of the line and engage the spool. The line should drop to the ground freely, but not full speed - if too fast, the spool will continue to spin and you'll get that dreaded birdsnest. If it doesn't reach the ground, you need to loosen it more.
Once you have it set, keep that weight on and go practice, using the thumbing process Parorae noted in the previous answer.
They take some getting used to for sure!

To cast the line, you hold down the A button, make a casting motion with your arm, and let go of the A button near the top of your casting arc. Reeling in the line is as simple as moving the Nunchuk in a circular motion or pressing the A button. You can move the line either left, right, or back by moving the Wii Remote in the same direction and increase or decrease the drag on the line by pressing up or down on the D pad on the remote.
