There is a sensor for that. Either a switch or an LED light sensor. Either something is broken causing the sensor to fail or it is a circuit board issue.
I recently replaced the USB module with another one which contains ethernet/USB interfaces. But an orange led permanently on. Is this have any effect with the issue??
well, if it started the problem right after you put it in, then yes. If it ran for a while the started, no -- unless the reassembly messed up the switch alignment.
The yellow LED is probably the LINK LED for the Ethernet I/O

I had the same problem 4/28/08 - Called Maytag they're sending the part and repairman free.
IN THE MEAN TIME.......Maytag suggested to me to: take a phillips head screw driver and remove the hinge cover from the top of the left door. You'll find a white connector with four wires coming from each side. Disconnect the connector in the middle and the flap will stop (and so will the lights).
SOURCE: display screen says: door/covers open close covers of relay unit??
I believe the "relay Unit" on that machine is the section that transports copies to either the finisher (if installed) or the exit tray on the LEFT side of that machine. Sometimes neither of these units are present, but the relay unit may still be installed.
There are 2 flip up covers on that section (left and right), and you will probably see that one of them (usually the left one) has come unclipped, or perhaps the plastic clip that holds it closed is broken. If you flip up this unit. You will see a black button at the back end that is engaged when ther unit is closed. If you simply pree this button with your finger, hopefully the message will go away - this may at least help you troubleshoot what is causing the "cover open" message). Even if the clip is broken, it is often just a matter of seating the unit correctly so that the switch is engaged when the unit is closed. There is also the same switch on the right cover that could be causing the problem, but this cover doesn't sem to get damged as often.
I hope this helps. Please let me know.
SOURCE: close ADF cover 4732 on a Ricoh IS330DC. How do I
I'm not familiar with this model, but if it says to close df cover, then either the cover is not closing all the way, a plastic piece on the inside of the cover that actuates the switch or sensor is broken or the switch itself is out of position, dirty or broken. Good luck Colin
SOURCE: After replacing the housing. Front cover is closed
Hi,
It is on the back side of the plastic white cover where the little display is locked in place you will see a tiny slot on the left bottom side.

If in the control panel don't show any places or any door, change the switches on the front cover area and the switches of the fuser area. If the problem continuos check the laser area.
