Not as easy as you think and should be done by a service technician.
There is cleaners out there that will benefit and save you money.
As a matter of fact you can use a cup or more of bleach and run it through the hottest cycle it has. Just make sure you make it rinse a couple times before using it.

Thanks for using FixYa. As you have not mentioned the complete model no# and the manufacturers name however, from what you have described error DE can either be drain error or door error. Door error means something is wrong with the door switch and door lock assembly. You should start by checking the door latch as well. If they are working fine then try to clean the drain hose and check the motor brushes(if the machine has motor) if they are worn can also cause this error. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
