SOURCE: Westinghouse Kimberley Electric stove

The temperature control thermostat mechanism in these switches are frail, low quality and repeatedly fail. You will know they have failed (again and again) when you turn the stove ring on and you will only have full temp with no variance.
They must be replaced.
Most places sell the replacements at insane markups, sometimes as much as $50 each! They can be had for almost a quarter of that price. There is no difference between the $50 and $15 controls regardless of what the rip off merchants will try to tell you.
Ideally these controls should be replaced free of charge by the stove manufacturer as they have used a very inferior component in their product during the manufacturing process.
They have been used by several common manufacturers for many years but still have made no effort at all to correct this very dangerous condition.
The danger factor of this fault is ignored but should receive the utmost attention by the autorities asap.

Hi we have a westinghouse mercury stove(electric) and the front left element gets hotter no matter what temperature you put it on. Please can you advise what to do?

Sounds to me like the switch is gone and it just puts on full power. If that stove has the typical electric elements, they either work or they don't. You could try calling Westinghouse support line as well. They could probably confirm what the issue is with that model and maybe tell you where to get the replacement part!!!

How do I clean under the electric elements on my basic westinghouse stove

Hello friend, thanks for your post!

I understand that you would like to clean under the cooktop on your Frigidaire range. Could you provide me with your model number please? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the storage drawer on the right hand side. With this information I can better assist you. -Matt

Replace fuse in an old Westinghouse 229 fan-forced oven.

Not sure, but if you're lucky the stove will have a schematic inside. Take the back off, see if one is glued to the back or in an envelope. If back is 2 pieces try top behind controls first. Unplug 1st!

Westinghouse oven no gas but supply and power is good

Your subject line says dryer but the text is about a stove.... This applies to your stove. Check to see if something fell down the back of your stove, there usually is a gas shut off at the floor that may have been inadvertently turned off. You may have to pull out the stove slightly, to see behind the stove.

I have an old double oven white -westinghouse stove and while i was at work the fuse blew in the basment. well i have reset it but now everything works but my stove. well my oven light will not come on...

Hi, sounds like your oven is a 240 volt electric.  One of your fuses is still blown. 240 volts requires 2 hot legs and obviously you have only one. When you turn on a burner, it completes the circuit to your light. Bottom line, you only have 120 volts to your oven, check the breakers or fuses. Good luck!

I live in a mobile home with a westinghouse DP 200 amp main breaker. it trips alot when i run the stove and the dryer along with other items.

You need to run a new circuit to the stove before your electrical wires catch on fire. that is a hazard you have taking a big chance if left alone. Your old wires and breaker is not heavy enough to run both so a complete rewiring job will be in order if not reaired very soon I would say from past experiences I've encountered
