My Vax slimvac doesn't seem to be charging. Red light flashes for about 30 seconds then goes off.

This means the batteries are no longer able to be charged and have to be replaced.

SOURCE: both red & green light flash when charger is connected to my vax cordless slimvac why

That machine has a 2 year warranty and it does not say much about the charger. However all the ones I have seen do that with alternating lights mean that battery is bad.
