HI,
I have omega 1000 juicer, and the latch arm was broken. I ordered the replacement latch arm online. I received my order today and there is no intruction how to replace it. I looked in omega 1000 manual and I coudn't find the intruction in there .
Thanks

Getting the old one out is the hardest part if the arm was broken off like mine. First locate the rectangular part where the arm attaches to the case. If the old arm, or most of it, is still attached, grasp it and pull firmly away from the case until you hear a click. Then, still pulling it away from the case, push it up toward the top of the case until it slides out. If the arm is broken off you have to pry it from the top until you hear the click. I used a small paring knife. Once you get it this far, wedge something like a toothpick behind it to keep it pulled away from the case. Then you need to push this push this part up. It is pretty tight so you might want to use some type of tool, like the blade of a flat screwdriver. Once you get the old one out, putting the new on in is just the reverse of taking the old one out.
I spent about $200 for this juicer thinking it would last for years, but the juicer's latch arm keeps breaking off, even when I baby it. This has happened about 6 times since I bought the juicer, costing me time and money for replacement latch arms. Why, for the life of me, I can't understand why the company can't redesign this part out of a less brittle plastic or maybe metal. Every owner of this product must be having the same problem. Is someone out there listening?
I agree. I love the juicer and mine is old. The motor is still good, but the latch arm -- both of them recently broke.
Here's a tip use crazy glue to attach the broken part of the arm and then coat it heavily with baking soda. The chemical reaction is so strong it will never break again. This method is used for repairing cracks in jet engines. I reinforced the unbroken arms using this method. Search Youtube for super glue and baking soda.
wyeast64 instructions worked perfectly. I actually broke the old handle off trying to do it, but prying with a large flat head screw driver popped it out and then pried it up and out. The new handle took quite a bit of force to install, but it worked perfectly. Thanks

Solution 1 worked pretty well for us.
The very best way is to call Omega directly during their office hours. They are well-versed with the problem. The operator who took the call just walked me through it...the removal part, that is. I was able to put the new arm in on my own. The difficulty was removal of the old. Here's the number: Phone:(717) 561-1105
