Remove the food and ice maker ( if equiped ) from freezer . Remove the screws holding the rear panel , and remove the panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , and defrost until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help clear the hole . When water starts to flow down , use a piece of hose , inserted into the drain , and blow thru it , to remove any debris built up inside the drain line . I would also get a piece of solid ALUMINUM wire , about 9" long , completly stripped of insulation and insert it into the drain hole as far as possible , without any force . Wrap the other end about 1-2 turns , around the black rod ( defrost heater ) , just above the drain hole . When the refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer to the aluminum wire , keeping the drain from freezing up again due to ice .

Water dripping into the refrigerator area from the freezer

Means you have a clogged or iced drain. Remove rear panel in the freezer and pour hot boiling water into drain. Inspect to ensure it is not iced. Keep pouring hot boiling water into drain until it opens and starts to drain. Be sure to put towels on top shelves in refrigerator to catch water, then dry completely.

Water is leaking from under the freezer into the refrigerator section, Is there an easy fix for this.

This is a common problem found with that model. Link below shows you how to solve it. It appears with what you said is the water is coming from the freezer compartment. If so then it can come from 2 things. A frozen defrost/cogged drain or your ice maker is leaking. Let me know how to refine your problem closer. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Water leaking from ice/water dispenser

hi there,

you may have a kink in the water line leading to the icemaker. the leak is due to warm water entering the icemaker itself. i would also check the water valve in the icemaker itself and ice actuators or paddles to any breakage.

Kitchenaid refrigerator KTRC22KKXHOO

In back of the refrigerator the drain from the freezer comes through. This drain hose is more than likely the cause of your problem. Cleaning out the trap at the bottom of this hose where it goes into the drain pan under the refrigerator may clear up your problem.
