It sounds like a shorted output rectifier.

SOURCE: MIG wire is always hot without pulling trigger

Check your manual, there are a lot of mig units on the market that are alway "Live" alternatively, the relay has either shorted or you have wirering problem on the switch.

SOURCE: I HAVE A LINCOLN 175

Hello, do you have the welding tip in the nozzle? This tip provides the proper grounding of the electrode wire.

SOURCE: my mig wire melts inside base unit when trigger is pulled

The above information is not correct.

The entire wire is polarized by the tip during normal operation, making the entire supply of wire is polarized to whichever polarity is selected. The cabinet of the welder is usually bonded to the output, and so therefore is the spindle on which the reel is kept.

You are using a spool that has the wire anchored on the outside of the reel, rubbing on the spindle assembly, and making a sliding contact.

Put an insulator between them. A circle of thick cardboard (not corrugated) with a hole in the center can work well, as do plastic lids- Cottage cheese, tub of grease...

Lincoln Welder will not weld runs like a top but will not arc.

You didn't say and an internet search is vague about whether it is a MIG welder or not. You said it won't arc which sort of suggests it is a stick welder...

Assuming it is a MIG, they are full of electronics and mostly very reliable but sometimes something on one of the boards dies and it will need an experienced person to sort it out. You say it runs like a top which could mean anything from the cooling fan running to it actually pushing wire through the torch at various speeds and switching on the gas valve when you press the trigger. If that doesn't happen it would be worth checking the Euro torch internal wiring and connections. If that does happen do you hear the contactor close? A few welders have been produced that used big SCR's instead of a contactor but they are few.

If the contactor is closing and everything else seems to be working, there is probably no output from the transformer...

A more comrehensive description would have been helpful.

216 mig no feed no fire maybe selonoid problem please help seloniod does not click

It could be just the simple problem of the trigger not working. Disconnect the trigger wires from the machine at the plug at the front of the machine. See if you can manually trigger the machine by placing a piece of bent over mig wire onto the contacts. If the machine does trigger from this then your fault is in the torch somewhere. It could be the trigger (which commonly does fault from a dusty environment) which is easily replaced by going into any welding store with the torch model number (magnum 250L), or it could possibly be that a trigger wire has broken from the torch being damaged

My 180 MigPak will not deliver argon to the torch. The tank is turned on. But won't let gas flow when the trigger is squeezes. Stick the torch in water no bubbles appear. What could be the problem. ...

Your gas hose or torch could be bad or plugged. Your gas solenoid on the welder itself could be bad. Disconnect the torch gas hose at the welder and see if you have gas coming out of the welder itself.

The wire feed on my welder will not work.

Maybe you can get lucky like I did . Some times the acr volt selector switch gets corrosion in it and wont let the circuit board know to send power to the wire feed motor. You can cycle this arc volt. switch in my case it is the a,b,c,d,e, switch back and fourth a few times and this will brake the corrosion and your wire might feed again as mine did . This corrosion build up happens from not using and or sollecting the switch much usually on a welder at hm that gets very little use. it is common good luck .

Renegase 180

This fault is typical in most MIG/MAG Units. the feed roller/s need slackening off, pull the trigger so the rollers spin wire the wire not moving, turn the tensioning 1 turn check to see if the wire feeds, if not give a half turn on the tentioner repeat this half turn untill the wire feeds, bend the wire to the torch and pull the trigger, If the wire feeds then thats the correct setting. be awear of all safety rules. use gloves
