    Hello . It may be due to sweating in the plastic that disrupts the camera monitor board. Remove the batteries. And keep the camera close to dry air and worms.

All electronic cameras have an internal battery that you cannot change. When it goes bad, the camera stops working and must be sent in for repair.

SOURCE: Nikon D40

Hey climiocid,
If what you mean is your images don't display on the LCD screen after you take the picture your image review option has most likely been turned off. If your camera just never displays any images I would try doing a hard reset on the camera by shutting off the camera and opening the connecter cover and pressing the reset button which should reset the camera to factory specifications. When resetting the camera this way remember this resets the cameras' clock. If none of this works I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. You can find an authorized service center by contacting the manufacturer, or you can always bring your camera to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they can send it out for service. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

When you have the flashing highlight areas, press the down arrow on the command dial and it will scroll through various playback screen options until you get to the screen you prefer to view.

I have Nikon D60. The monitor will not display images, but it works for menus, etc. It says it will not display due to current settings, but i cannot find the setting to change it.

The D60 works as SLRs have worked for half a century, using the viewfinder to compose photos. Only recent dSLRs provide the Live View capability, allowing you to use the monitor for that purpose. Nikon introduced this feature with the D3 and the D300. Currently, the least-expensive Nikon with this feature is the D5000.

I have a nikon d60 and every time i turn it on a message comes up saying "error. turn camera off and then on again." i do this and the same message comes up. how can i fix it ?

Try to take out the battery and then put it back after a minute or so. If the camera is still not coming to, change the battery to another one. If this does not work, you need to take to the camera to a repair shop to be checked.

Nikon d60 - error. turn camera off and on again.

Locate the button behind the shutter release button with the green dot next to it. Locate the button at the back lower hand side of the D60 with the green dot next to it. Press both buttons at the same time.........This resets the D60 to its original settings and should resolve the problem.....

Go into the menu and scroll to "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. If that doesn't work, you need to take the new Nikon back.

Can your camera still take photographs?

You can Try the following;

Remove the batteries , as also remove the memory card. wait for about 5 minutes. Then install the only the fully charged batteries and restart the camera. Try to use the shutter or Aperture mode, hopefully, you turn it on it and should come back to life.

If not, then it best to show to the nearest Nikon service center..
