GE top loading washer and I've had this problem before, back when I first bought it used. I was able to fix the problem, using field service guide, but forgot what I did. This happens when I unplug washer for extended time-I went on vacation or when I bought it. It was working perfectly when I left.
SOURCE: od code
od code is supposed to mean that lid has not been opened for the last 3 completed cycles. Also, apparently you tried the service mode and found the door lock to be working. So, unless the problem is with the electronic board itself the only other thing that could be happening is a faulty sensing switch at the door lid or a bad connection to it. I would try shorting the leads from the switch and see if the problem goes away. Then you might just need a new switch.

All the lights are on, but the door lock. We have unplugged it, doesn't help. Our washer is the front load, model LTF 2140ES0.

Jeff, did you look at the Sony web site? They had a problem with 9 different TV models that were from 2003 and 2004, KF-42WE610, KF-50WE610, KF-60WE610 and 6 other models.
This is what it states: It haas come to our attention that a limited number of Grand WEGA rear projection TV's may exhibit warping to the lamp access door. In rare cases, some additional components may also become damaged as a result. and so on........
You probably have some components melted on the inside around the lamp. I have a 42 inch and I just replaced the lamp at Christmas and the door was melted shut. This is the second lamp that I have replaced, the door was starting to melt the first time. They never sent me anything about this problem, and as of today I am still trying to work something out with them. The repair shop who has it told me that it can't be repaired. The parts that are melted are not in stock and they don't make them anymore. They are supposed to get back with me and make me some kind of offer.
They will only fix this problem through March 31, 2009.

The next time this condition occuers, take the front panel off the machine and look under the top cover of the motor at the right front side. There is a LED light on the motor inverter board there. If it is flashing twice, then a pause, then repeating this again and again you most likely have a loose hub nut on your wash basket. (the motor reads this as belt slippage)
1. Order and install a new hub washer (WH2X1199) and a new split ring (WH2X1195) along with a new hub nut (WH2X1193). If the hub part of the basket is worn, replace that as well (plastic tub models = WH45X10027, SS tub = hub / basket WH45X10060.
2. Tighten hub nut, torque to 110 ft-lbs.
3. Clear flash code error. (your method to clear code is a bit more extreme than required, but will work)

F1
Defective touch pad or clock (ERC)
Replace touch pad or clock (ERC). Touch pad is a more common problem. This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.
Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).
Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.
1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.
