There's only the red exclamation mark illuminated - nothing else works. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging. I can't even power it down. It's perpetually in red exclamation mode.

i've looked it up and seems that it's a common problem and you need to flicker the CD door up and down a bit till your printer recognizes it's fully shut!!!

1. I checked that the HP was still on the computer. Result: affirmative
2. I unplugged everything relating to the HP and reset. It came back to life!! Copies and prints fantastically again
3. Still cannot get a response from the Scan function. Tried everything, inc HP troubleshooting. If you have any ideas on this you will be great heroes!!!

1-if you are in any application, word, windows etc... click on
File

Is the printer there hp 6110 ( if not reinstall driver)
does it have a checmark next to it? no, then right click
go to properties
set as default
put your mouse over printer, does it say ready? no, check connection or change cable.
