I re-roped my scratching post. Get 3/8 sisal rope. The hardest part was getting the post off the base and wrapping the rope tight. You will need a staple gun. Round staples are best but I think you can work with flat ones. Only use them at the ends and bury them well.

SOURCE: : I bought a scratching post for my cat. How do I train him to use it?

My answer is definitely the catmint route. If you have time, patience and space, try growing catmint from seed and take four or five fresh leaves to rub on things/areas you want your cat to scratch.
Ordinarily you can huy dry catmint which you can also rub on catpost. But, rub it on one side only, and in a smaller area, lower on catpost, then rub all around the post higher up.
You have to be a little sneaky with cats because they can be quite fussy.

I have purchased a Whisker City hooded cat litter pan twice in the last 4 months.Pin on door has snapped twice & u can't just buy the lid. Ridiculous. Should be made better

Exactly! Many designs reach the shops that are hardly fit for the intended purpose.

You should complain bitterly to the manufacturer, to the retailer and to any related publications. You could give poor reviews on websites selling the item...

I hope you have returned these faulty items to the retailer for refund or replacement.

What's the best type of scratching pad for my cat?

Mine like carpet post and the bottom of the couch. He sometimes likes the cardboard that lays flat on the ground and NOT the cardboard that stands up. I bought the one from Target "boots and barkley" because it is reasonable prices but he just chewed the lower level and no interest in scratching it. So he didn't like A) but likes B) so you just have to figure what he likes. I bought two of the C) and he didn't like it at all, one is still in the package and one open barely used. Guess those will go on craigslist for $5 bucks. So you have to do a trail and error A) BOOTS BARKLEY Corrugate Scratching Post Refill B) CAT SCRATCH BB ARCH CAT SCRATCH C) Cat Scratching Play House

What does a cat tree look like?

A cat tree is basically a post with different levels for cats to climb and play on. Most times the post is wrapped with sisal cord rope so your cats can scratch on it and the sitting levels are covered in carpet.

It can range from your basic carpet covered boards attached to posts at various heights, or even more extravagant like an actual tree your cats can sit on.

Should I cut my cat's whiskers when I grooming her?

It is not a goodidea to cut cat's whiskers. This isbecause your cat uses them to sense his environment and gauge what is aroundhim. Theoretically, cutting his whiskerscould harm his general sense of comfort and stability.
