GE front load not spinning/draining the water out properly

GE front load # WCVH6800JWW is not spinning/draining the water out of my clothes... they are soaked coming out, and a lot of time it sets itself to "pause"..

Is it a clogged line, or maybe because it's not level?I think it leans forward a bit and needs to be shimmed or something.

SOURCE: soaking wet clothes

Harm, remove the lower panel and you will see the filter right in front. Unscrew the filter strainer and clean all the lint and debris. This machine has a pressure switch that won't allow a high spin if it detects water in the tub. Therefore you get these pauses and slow tumlbe. Try this and see if it's normal after cleaning the filter...Catriver...post back

sounds like there is a pumping/blockage problem. check the filter and all drain hoses/outlets. if all clear the pump may be faulty. is the drum turning at all?

My GE GFW650 front-load washer skips directly to end without spinning clothes dry.

If your GE GFW650 front-load washer is skipping directly to the end of the cycle without spinning the clothes dry, there are a few possible causes that you can investigate:
1. Unbalanced Load: If the load of laundry is not evenly distributed in the drum, the washer may not be able to balance it properly during the spin cycle. This can cause the washer to skip the spin cycle and go directly to the end. Try rearranging the clothes in the washer and restarting the cycle.
2. Blocked Drainage: If the washer is unable to drain water from the drum, it may skip the spin cycle and go directly to the end. Check for any blockages in the drainage system, such as a clogged drain hose or filter. Clean or replace any blocked components.
3. Faulty Motor: If the motor that drives the spin cycle is malfunctioning, it may cause the washer to skip the spin cycle and go directly to the end. This is a more serious issue that may require a professional repair.
4. Malfunctioning Control Board: If the washer's control board is malfunctioning, it may not be able to properly control the spin cycle. This can cause the washer to skip the spin cycle and go directly to the end. Again, this is a more serious issue that may require a professional repair.

If none of these solutions work, or if you are uncomfortable performing any of the troubleshooting steps, it may be best to contact a professional technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

It doesn't agitate
It's noisy
It leaks
It's off balance
There's no hot water
There's no cold water

There's no water at all
The clothes are wet after spinning
The cycle doesn't advance
There's no delicate or regular spin or agitate
It's overfilling
It's underfilling
The water temperature is incorrect

It doesn't self balance and spin out all the water from clothes. the clothes are very wet, especially jeans. And the washer rocks bad during the spin cycle.

I have a GE Front Loader. Model# GHDVH670H1GG. The tumbler works until water is required to be drained. At that time, the tumbler is trying to tumble for rinse, but, the water is not being drained and not...

On my machine the pump filter was clogged preventing the water from draining out of the machine properly. This would leave the clothes soaked in water as the machine tried to spin, the extra weight caused the drum to rub against the door seal while spinning, causing the burnt rubber smoke! I removed the 3 screws on the lower fron panel of the machine and opened the drain ( make sure you have a pan or bucket to catch the water! ) cleaned the fliter and put everything back. Works like new again. Good luck.

Front loader has gotten really really loud and shakes the whole floor when it spins properly. Today it left a lot of water in the clothes. It used to make a weird whining noise when it didn't spin out...

Can I reprogram a front load GE washer so I can add a drain and spin cycle that this machine does not have?.Sometimes my clothes come out too wet and it would be nice to spin and drain them again without...

just add another drain and spin cycle and start it up again with the completion of the first cycle. Washing some items like sleeping bags takes forever because they are so darned absorbent and hold more water than a tiger's sieve of a bladder. Another drain and spin cycle should solve the problem.

Kenmore front load washer will not spin. Clothes come out wet.

The clothes are wet after spinning When the clothes are wet at the end of a cycle, check these:

Motor coupler
Spin cycle
Siphoning
Water-inlet valve
Motor coupler To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning:

  • If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.

  • If it isn't spinning--and your machine was produced by Whirlpool®--you may have a broken coupler. Many Whirlpool-made washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it completely.

Spin cycle If the washer doesn't reach its proper spin speed, the clothes may be too wet at the end of a cycle. Check to be sure the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again. If the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt (Maytag®), a worn clutch (GE®/Hotpoint®), or a worn motor pulley or tub bearing. Replace the applicable component.

Alternatively, there could be clothes caught between the inner and outer tubs. Read the "It spins but won't pump" section of the "It won't drain" section. Also, there could be other things that cause friction on the drive train. Seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

Siphoning If the water that pumps from the machine goes right back into the machine after the spin cycle, it may be because your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub with a slow drain, back into the washer. Try to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is there something stuck in the drain?) Also, be sure the drain hose doesn't reach more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub. If it does, cut off the excess.

Water-inlet valve Water-inlet valves eventually fail. One problem that may develop with a water-inlet valve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricity is turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when you haven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve.

GE Front Loading Washing Machine seems to be holding water....

The high speed spin of a front load washer should normally do a good job of getting squeezing out the water but if there is an oversudsing condition that makes it hard for the drain pump to operate then the suds and water will just stay there. First make sure there is no actual clog in the drain line then run a load with no soap or detergent and see what happens. It's always better to use a low suds detergent with this type of machine
