Hello. first of all the dryer drum is supposed to spin counter clockwise.

if you are not exhausting air you have to pull the dryer out from the wall, remove the vent pipe and thoroughly inspect both the pipe and the innerards of the dryer for lint blockage. if you have a long vent pipe and can't see the entire length slide a dry garden hose through it after you remove the vent pipe cover on the out side.

Hi,

The first and most important thing you need to do, is to disconnect the dryer from the wall outlet before doing any kind of work on it. Most parts will need to be checked for continuity and the dryer must be disconnected from the wall outlet.
Most of the times the part causing the problem is behind the dryer and you can gain access by removing the back panel.

kindly post back, and let me hear what action has been taken/done.

    Thanks

use a multimeter and check if there still a continuity on the fan motor. be sure to unplug the unit to electrical outlet before doing this

My new Whirlpool 3 prong dryer spins counter clockwise. Why not clockwise?

Is the air blowing from the exhaust in the back of the dryer and are clothes drying?
if the motor turned the other way, you would have no air flow. The dryer is working as designed. Also, if the drum turned clockwise, the idler pulley would not keep the belt tight. Some dryers turn clockwise, some counterclockwise.

Replacing light bulb

Open the door, remove the cover and have a few buddies spin the dryer in a counter-clock wise when viewing from the back. Remember you have to grab the bulb and hold it while they spin the dryer.

Dryer spins counter clockwise

When installing new belt the belt comes off the right side of the drum and through the idler and around the motor shaft, then up the left side

Washer will not spin/drain properly.

a large load will sometimes get out of the top of the tub and cause the lid switch mounts to break and then the unit wont spin or drain. just look under the top and if you see the lid switch just hanging or not in the right place then replace the lid switch.

Dryer drum will not turn

Try pushing start button while turing drum clock wise and see if drum will start spinning, sounds like bad start winding or relay
