SOURCE: Can you move a stackable washer and dryer with it laying down.

It should be fine. Just make sure that any water that comes out doesn't get in the electrical parts of the units. Good luck. Any questions feel free to ask. Please rate me so I know if I helped you. Thanks.

SOURCE: I have a Frigidaire Gallery Stackable that has a screechy dryer

Sounds like it is worn out. Get a parts diagram and take it apart and see what parts are missing or worn out. The belt is probably coming apart and that is the black stuff. There are several plastic wear plates and a bearing/bushing for the drum, plus the belt idler and all these can wear out. The motor could also have a bad bushing in it but more than likely that will require a new motor as they don't usually sell just the bushing or end caps.

It appears your vibration damper(s) has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

Transporting a Kenmore front load washer and gas dryer

Yes you can lay them down. Some modals call for 24 hour reaping time before you can plugin to run. Reaping meaning some modal have the new R134A coolant in them so if they lay down wait 24 hours before use. Gas you can just lay then down and brace it so it can't move around.

It is a stackable washer dryer and I would like to change the pump . I need to know how to access it. Thank You.

There are 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel of the washer portion. Simply remove these 2 screws and pull down on the panel and the pump will be at the bottom left hand side.

It is not really a problem. I am wondering if I want to transport our stackable washer/dryer ...(moving it to our cottage) can it be flpped on its side? or will this do it some damage? Can it be taken...

Good Morning; Thanks for your question. The easiest way to move and transport your unit, is to separate them. Go around back of the unit. Where the top unit sits on the bottom, there are two lockdown brackets, one on the right and one on the left. Remove and save. Slide top unit back until front feet are released from front brackets. Then you can lift off. Note, it probably will take two of you for the lifting. It is best, that you not lay them on their sides. Hope this helps and have a good day.

Remove the top cover, and put plenty of packing down both sides to prevent the inside parts from moving about, this way it will be o/k to transport it on it's side.

there will always be water inside he machine(between the tubs, and in the hoses, but no so much to add that much weight so you cant move it, i would look to see of perhaps a levevling leg has hit the floor not allowing you to slide easily.
