Hi, i have a Vizio D40F-G9. I want to know if this TV have the option to see movie with the "Soap Opera Effect" or to cancel the "Smooth Smoothing Blur". When i activate the Demo video, the video is in Hi Definition with incredible detail close to the Soap Opera Effect and i want to see my Blu Ray movies like that.

If I'm not confusing apples-to-oranges, the soap-opera effect is covered under MENU, MORE PICTURE settings, in the FILM MODE setting. However, you should be aware that if you do watch a movie in this setting, Tom Cruise will show up at your house and smash your TV.

Lol. I work with a Luis R.
I'm not sure what a "soap opera effect" is but if you want 1080p or 4k you have to have the bluray connected with a hdmi. And the bluray has to have the same quality output you want (minimum 1080p)

Contact the TV maker yet, ask them?

Testimonial: "They told me that i need to have UHD to see the movies in that definition. Something that clearly wasn't mentioned in any promo. Most of my Blueray doesn't even look that good. Not even close to the Soap Opera Effect even tho they could just told that this TV doesn't have that option like other Vizio Smart TV that do have them."

SOURCE: Blu-Ray player not reading Blu-Ray movie

I had the same problem - Fix - Go to the sharp web site and download the file HP21U_HP50U_PN902270. You will need to make sure your thumb drive is no bigger than 4gb and you do not have any other files on it. Once you download the file on the thumb drive, you will need to unzip the file on the same thumb drive. The zip file is one of the new ones, so you might need to go to the web and get a shareware program that will open it. After this - turn your player on and go to setting, next scroll down to update firmware, insert the drive and tell it OK, it will ask you if this is OK, tell it OK and it will upgrade the firmware in about 2 min. I have already done this with 3 other players with no problem. Good luck. The sharp web site is sometimes a little hard to find and to me was not the most user friendly. good luck [email protected]

SOURCE: I have a new 40"

You didnt specify what type of samsung TV you have but the are picture presets for most of the ones i have come across, they are named in this format Dynamic, Cool, Smooth etc, they are presets so you can select the closest to the effect you want and then from there fine tune the picture with the brightness, contrast options, Hope this helps...

Vizio TV D40f-G9 must be unplugged and wait 30 seconds before plugging back in to start. Is the main/power board or T-con board the issue?

It's not going to be the tcon board, it's either the main or power board, pull the back off and test the PS_ON pin on the power board to see if your loosing the command for power supply enable (3.3VDC) if so replace the main, if it stays then the power supply. Chances are it's your EEPROM that's bad causing the issue your having

Hi, ive just bought a new samsung LE40c654 (100hz) and when watching sport the ball moves with a half moon shadow ahead and behind! My feed is from Sky HD and the shadows are mainly when the ball is moving...

I believe that you are suffering from what is called Soap Opera Effect...."SOE" The problem with newer TV's is that they try and guess what happens next as they are too fast when compared to TV shows and movies which I think are 24 ad 30 frames per second and this sometimes leads to shadows in action situations. What I did was to alter the settings for the TV by going to You Tube and searching my TV model and Soap Opera Effect and changing my settings. It worked great for me....perhaps it will wok for you as well.

This is often called the "Soap Opera" effect...I had a similar problem and found that changing the settings helped tremendously. Here are the settings I use:

Backlight: 18
Brightness: 49
Contrast: 52
Color: 42
Tint: 2
Sharpness: 3

Advanced Video
Noise Reduction: strong
Color enhancement: off
Advanced Adaptive Luma: Off
Enhanced Contrast Rato: off

Color Temperature: Normal
Red: 121
Green: 128
Blue: 118

Smooth Motion Effect: low
Real Cinema Mode: Precision
