You are not really going to run everything in the house while using your washing machine, isn't it? If your machine runs on 1 horse power (HP) motor (which is unlikely), thats already 746 watts. say you are running some little wattage appliances say total of 1,000 watts. Double that figure and you get 2kw. A 2kva to 3kva generator would be ideal...got plenty clearance for unexpected load.

Possible that the program controller unit has failed if there is no display or power in the indication. You will need to remove panel to check on the fuse and if the new fuse fails it is possible there are error or hardware failure within the board.
