1. Press PLAY from your remote control 2. Press the following button sequence: 1590 2379 390 3. Press PLAY again
This will release the region verification in your home theater (region free). However, some DVDs (multiregion in particular) will not play, since they require region detection from the player unit.
To make the player as region free, switch on the LG HT554 Player. Push the eject button to open the tray. Now, press “0” on your player 4 times or until the region code settings shows up on your player. It will show the current region code and will then ask for new region code. Press “0” on your remote to set it as a new region code(0=All Regions). Press Enter key on remote, now restart your player and check the player by playing the DVD’s. It should be region free now. Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.
You should contact the manufacture support to see if they have a version of firmware you can install in to the player to re-program it for the UK standard.
In most cases you will have to go out and buy a player that was originaly designed for the region where you are. You can also shop around to see if it is possible to have a multi-region player. In some locations these are legal to be sold.
