No sound Says no device installed, checked undeer device manager, says card is working properly,, this is a Toshiba satellite PSAA5U-02101D Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C 1020 same problem

Sounds like a bad wireless card or the card slot.I would try replacing the wireless card.When wireless cards go bad they either cause the laptop to not boot,low or no signal reception or the card isn't seen at all by the motherboard or operating system or .both.If it isn't showing in device manager either with a caution sign or installed the card is most likely bad

Does the icon come up in the tray if so check
to see if it is not muted

Go into device manager/propersties and see if
it lists any problem,if it says everything is working
properly remove it and let it check for changes in
device manger when it reisstalls see if that works

most likely you are going to have to ship it to them and they will have to replace the monitor for you (at a price). I don't think they will just sell you a replacement screen.

control panel sounds and audio,audio make necessary adjustments there or control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager,sound,could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers

check if the sound card is properly installed.
to check:
- go to start, point to computer, click manage, then click device manager. if there's a yellow sign on your audio, you need to install your audio driver

The solution is to go to your device in device manager on the driver tab simply disable then re enable the device - problem solved in seconds - no need to re install your OS system.....

You should check if in the device manager the sound card shows up. Also, check the BIOS to see if it is not disabled.

I'm sure that's the common problem with UAA HDAudio on Slipstream XP.
Try to install patch KB888111 by microsoft.
(microsoft don't provide the download.)
