Hi, we just got an Hitachi DF600-RK and reset it to factory settings until the next power on like this:
1. shut it down
2. press and hold reset switches on both controllers
3. power up the storage with reset switches pressed.
4. keep the reset switches for something like a minute and then release them
The machine will then bootup with no config loaded, and probabbly with default manufacture admin password.
I'm asking you if you can send us some documentation about this storage, default admin password, anything you have might help us setting it up.
This maybe due to capacitors dried up in air conditioned room. Keep the TV in standby mode, will keep the large electrolytic capacitor cured at all times.
This is not really a solution, but read on... I had these symptoms in my 42 inch Hitachi plasma also.When I took it in to get it looked at , I was told that dust was accumulating on and around the cooling fans.He gave it a quick cleaning ( vacuuming I assume) and it worked for a while then started malfunctioning again. Now I'm trying to decide whether to just pitch it or keep cleaning it myself.Hope this helps.
