Tips for Threading your Needle

It's my experience that the automatic needle threaders on most machines work fine for a while, then the little hook that pulls the thread through the eye of the needle gets bent so it won't go in the eye anymore.
Here are a few tips that will help threading your needle the old-fashioned way easier:
1. Use a pair of tweezers. I have a large pair of tweezers that live on my sewing table. They are great for pulling out threads I've ripped out, for helping guide fabric under the pressure foot, and for threading the needle. I hold the thread in the tweezers maybe 1/2" or less from the end of thread, and it just slides on through.
2. Instead of,or in addition to, wetting the end of the thread, wet the eye of the needle. (I lick my index finger and wipe the eye with it.) For some reason, the moisture in the eye sort of pulls the thread in.
3. Make sure the thread ends with a sharp cut. Snip off the end if it's the least bit raveled or frayed.
4. Use plenty of light. The little lights on most sewing machines are really pretty pathetic, so don't depend on that for your only light source, especially when threading your needle. I have a clamp-on light, a floor lamp, and two table lamps on when I'm sewing--and that isn't enough, sometimes!
5. Get a pair of reading glasses. They magnify small things--like the eye of a sewing machine needle!
Hope these tips help!!! Happy Sewing to you all,

Robbie

What song has lyric keep on taking that medication, lock that temper behind those pills, i'm going psycho

Psycho by Imelda May
Keep on talkin' you medication
Lock that temper behind those pills
Your brain is flyin', insanely fryin'
Just remember it's a bad to kill
I go with a psycho
I go with a psycho
No more growlin', stop you prowlin'
Leave those cars and people alone
You're an animal, a huma cannibal
Snarlin' and a snappin' like a dog on a bone
I go with a psycho
Yeah I go with a psycho
You terrify the neighbours when your scream and shout
You look like it's contagious, you're foamin at the mouth
You're a freakin' nightmare when you're lyin' in my bed
You sleep with eyes wide open live the living dead
I go with a psycho
I go with a psycho

I replaced a broken Hansgrohe hand shower with a new Hansgrohe Clubmaster 3 - now have very poor water pressure - how to correct?

Hi Christieb942,

When you get a new hand shower you can sometimes get sediment on the federally mandated FLOW RESTRICTOR. Not screaming, that is ****** in cheek. To CHECK the Flow Restrictor for debris, look at the hose connection end of the hand shower. You will see an INSERTED part that is green, yellow, or white. We have to push that in there to satisfy the EPA requirement for flow. You can pull it OUT and rinse it off. Then connect your handshower and try it and see if it is improved. You will not void the warranty in any way by doing this. I hope you understand what I am telling you, but if not you can call me 800-334-0455. I wish I could answer more directly, but Big Brother has eyes.

How can you open a stuck hood on a 98 mountaineer?

If you have not got it by now there is a "CaveMan Method" to this problem. Have someone pull the release for you at the same time pound on the hood above the latch. If that does not work remove the release from under the dash. Take a pair of Vise grips and pull the cable and pound (with your hand).this should get it open.

95 jetta whistling/screaming sound

Plural husbands? Check each wheel by jacking up that corner of the car and spin each wheel by hand. If one of more of the wheels makes this sound, there may be an incorrectly installed pad in the brake assembly which could be dragging on the rotor. Make sure that each caliper will retract properly. Hope this helps!

We have a 'Little Tikes Hide and Slide' and we need to take it apart. How do we do this (without breaking it)?

The key is the red locks on each side of the climber wall. Be careful not to force the red locks open because it WILL cause them to tear on the seam.

I used two big flat screwdrivers and another pair of strong hands. What I did was I inserted the screwdrivers in between the outer part of the red lock and the yellow wall, leaving just enough gap between the screwdrivers for a hand to slide in. Then pushed the screwdrivers outward as lever to loosen up the lock. Then my husband finished the job by inserting his hands between the gap created by the screwdrivers and pull.

I hope this is helpful for you, as I know I'm better in demonstrating than describing.
