Our RCBA unit is leaking. The apartment maintenance guy vaccuumed out some pipe. They take forever to respond to a work order. Any idea what he vaccuumed out and where it's located?

Your evaporator drain is probably clogged. The drain pan is usually at the bottom of the unit. Look for a pvc pipe leading outside.

SOURCE: water pipe has a open truck leaking anti-freeze need help locating part

I would think a good parts store could help you, even if it's a temporary replacement or fix, till you get the dealer's pipe. What hose is it? A big radiator hose, heater hose, or metal pipe with o-rings? I still say a temporary fix should work for awhile.

Is this normal for a furnace?

According to the installation instructions manual for Armstrong Air Conditioning A96DS2V, the exhaust pipe must be properly installed and sealed to prevent any leakage of flue gases into the living space. Any leakage of flue gases can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be fatal. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the exhaust pipe is properly installed and sealed.

Caulking is not an appropriate method to fix a leak in the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe should be repaired or replaced by a qualified technician. Contact a qualified technician to inspect your furnace and exhaust pipe to ensure that it is safe and functioning properly. That would be an HVAC technician. Your friends might know of such or you can consult business pages. Home Depot would have access to such people or Forbes Home would also have a list. I wouldn't be comfortable having a pipe which could leak carbon monoxide fixed with caulking. Why risk it?

Hoptpoint WD64 appears to be leaking. Puddle appears an hour or two after cycle completes as expected. Any ideas why / any maintenance I can undertake to resolve?

If leak is occuring after wash is finished I would suspect a leaking outlet pipe joint around the pump as water will still be present in that area. If it is a leaking joint it may just need tightening, but to help it, only if you wish to, disassemble the joint and apply some instant gasket, type used in automotive assembly, and reassemble the joint and tighten. DON'T USE SILICONE SEALER as you may want to get the joint apart at a future date.

Water coming from indoor unit

The problem is caused by fine particulants such as dust, pet dander, etc. which mix with the collected condinsation water and forms a grey gel eventually clogging up the drainage pipe. The solution is to attach a wet vaccuum hose to the discharge end of the drainage pipe and vaccuum out the gel. It is advisable to flush the system by adding water to the a/c's drain pan while the vaccuum is still running.

When I turn the drum, I hear a scrapping noise.

Have the unit taken apart to inspect bearings and glides. While there, vaccuum all the lint.

GMPN goodman furnace: Water leaks from the base.

Check the drain tubes inside the furnace. There may be a loose connection or a split tube.
The unit could also leak from the gasket between the secondary heat exchanger and the vent fan housing. The secondary heat exchanger ould also be leaking or cracked.
Hope this helps.
