SOURCE: Water leaking from back of freezer side and is coming from coil panel. I believe drain is plugged but can't figure out how to get to it. Please help

9 out of ten chances its peas or french fries. i know this sounds funny but its true. depending on the model of fridge you have varys the complexity of the issue. for most fridges. you just got to start taking it apart from the inside remove all screws and make sure you mark everything so you know where they go to. its not that hard in most cases once you get behind the shell of the fridge you will see a drain pipe

SOURCE: Hoover HCA390FFK not draining through drain plug

A common problem is a blocked drain tube. Using compressed air, blow through the tube to clear it. Also, make sure that th refrigerator is level in both directions to allow proper pitch for draining.

SOURCE: drain plug by freezer coils plugged water

If the drain is clogged melt all frost or ice with hair dryer. Remove the water with a cloth. Make sure the unit is leveled. Locate the hole of the drain and run some hot (not just warm) water in to it. If it doesn’t get to the pan, run a electric wire 12 or 14 Gauge and start pushing in to the hole. Be very careful.

Model et18pkxfno1 serial eg4024334 type c18tfa97\r\nwater drips into refrigerator compartment somewhere from freezer (inside). Occurs daily. Tried to adjust temp in both refrigerator and freezer but...

The problem is that your fridge's drain line (which is located in the freezer) is iced over. So water can't drain out of the freezer when your fridge enters it's defrost cycle. The freezer and drain line needs to be defrosted by hand. Or you can unplug the fridge and open the doors for a 2-3 hours. Eventully, if no action is taken, the ice build up in the freezer will block the cold air flow to the refrigerator compartment .

WE have an older fridge. Water is now collecting

Good day,
On some of the older models when the refrigerator went thru it's automatic defrost cycle, the condensate water ran down the back wall, under the crispers and out that drain plug you described.
You can verify if that is your model by looking at the back wall of the machine. If there is no drain tube running down the back, then that is the model you have.
If that is the case, just remove the plug. The water should run directly into the drain pan.
Clean the plug and opening and that's it.

It appears that the water is coming from the coils in the freezer section. I collects at the bottom of the freezer. When the door is opened, it melts and runs out.

Hi, The defrost drain behind the rear freezer panel is plugged. Remove the rear panel and clear the ice away from the drain. Then you will need to flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is open.
Some models require an after market drain heat kit.
Please get me your model # and I can look this up to let you know if you need that heat kit.

Thanks
