SOURCE: Air bubbles in laminate

Do you have a dual lamination station in your printer? How old is the printer?

There may be contaminates on heated platen that is causing the bubbles. I would go into the printer settings and try various settings such as LAM1-BOTH SIDES and LAM2-NONE then LAM1-NONE LAM2-BOTH SIDES to isolate the issue

Lamination Problem

You have to go to printer driver, see the general settings and put more darkness(normally it ranges from 0-20, it should be set at 10. Try puting the darkness at 11,12,13, etc until it laminates properly. Don't forget to put back the setting when printing ymcko, or you will burn ribbon.
If the head that prints color is the same that laminates, then you should be cleaning the head after use.

My datacard printer ribbon is supposed to get upto 500 images, but it is skipping every other color series so I am only getting 250 images

Every time you open the printer, it advances CMYK panel 01 to position the print head. This can cause loss of ribbon. Avoid opening the printer to the maximum you canoptimize your prints.

Running "test" cards on the SP75 Plus.

Is the test card meant to the laminator heated?

If so, you should be able to set the laminator time out from 30 minutes to 5 hours.

This is done through the front panel under the configuration menu.

Hope this helps

Overlay module not communication with printer

you would need to replace the entire lamination assembly, it would not be worth cost for parts or time, buy same model printer used or trade in your current for discount on a Datacard CP80 Plus Printer

Heater error in Sp75

Sounds like either the thermocouple or the heater went out. Was this the error code?

OP-01604 Thermocouple problem in L1 laminator

The comments in the service manual states:
- Check the thermocouple wire for damage.
- If the thermocouple was recently replaced, verify that it is not installed backwards
- Verify that the thermocouple connector is not unplugged or plugged in backwards

I would probably order a replacement part, call in your local DataCard service representitive or send it to DataCard for repair.
