A 1997 What? Manufacturer? Go online and look up the model and download instructions for free. Buy a water filter for your unit online at or on eBay. It is much cheaper that buying from the mfg. You may also use the MFG. toll-free line and ask for help. Be sure to write down the complete Model # and Serial Number BEFORE CALLING OR INTERNET SEARCHES...You can find the Model # and Serial # on the inside of the fridge on the wall or on one of the doors.

have you felt water in the ice maker or ice cubes thats the only way you know for sure.. just cause water in doors works doesnt mean icemaker getting water.. got different valves giving water to different places Is your freezer temp. right.. has to be right temp for icemaker to work.. check back wall in freezer make sure no frost buildup and if fan working

what happened you reset the computer (mother board) chances are you had a brief glitch in your power and it made the computer go hey wire

souonds like that sensor has gone bad, doenst know its full and contionues to make ice. youll need to repalce the electronic board.(they come as a kit both emitter and reciever,)

The icemakers won't make ice if the temperature is not below a certain set point. Varies between manufacturers. Try making the temp colder.

take the ice bucket out of the freezer
from the back of the ice bucket, there is a little metal bar that stickes out (back left bottom)
that little metal bar inserts into a hole with a spring loaded 'up/down' mechanism...this is stuck UP, and needs to be jiggled with your finger to spring down.
Once that mechanism inside the hole springs down, the ice maker will go back to producing whole ice cubes.
