How do I reset my Canon ink absorber? Insert new ink absorber pads firmly into the rubber frame. Replace the rubber frame in its original position and close the printer. Hold down the power button, then plug the printer back in. Continue holding the power button down until the printer begins to reset itself and come online.

My Canon MP210 printer [ USB001 ] said the Ink absorber is Full contact the service center. Guess what, the service center just gave information. I need to know if will be able to fix or will...

There are two possible ways to remove the error from your printer. First is to actually clean the absorber pads that are full of waste ink. The second is to reset the printer to clear the error and let the printer print again.
Clean the two absorber pads. There are actually two absorber pads located on the right side of the printer, under the
ink cartridges when the carrier is in the home position.
Accessing the pads and remove them for cleaning?
Turn on the printer. Lift the top cover to expose the ink cartridges. As soon as you lift up the cover the cartridge carrier will move away from its home base. Then the pads will be exposed. It will be a dirty job so be prepared with your tweezers and extra cloth for some ink spillage. Using the tweezers, lift up the pads sitting on the rubber retainer. The pads can be easily clean by placing them under running water. Use warm water to remove the ink from the pads. Dry the pads and reinstall them. Same procedure if you are installing new pads.

However, the problem will not be solve especially if you are currently facing the waste ink absorber full error or E-27.

E8 Waste ink absorber full, or platen waste ink absorber full WHAT MUST DO?

I am told that this will reset your counter and eliminate the full absorber warning that you are getting.

Cleaning the pads is messy, sending the printer to Canon is expensive,

I used a simular reset code for my MP470 and haven't had any problems.

1. To clean physical pads:
Open cover (as if replacing ink cartridge).
Locate waste ink pads, they are far right under cartridge slider.
Pry up waste ink pads (inky, might want to wear gloves).
Rinse pads in sink or with alcohol, dry.
Replace pads. Make sure pads are fully seated.

2. To reset waste ink counter:
Press Menu-Scan-Copy-Scan to enter service menu.
Use arrow keys to scroll to "Service menu counter access".
Press OK.
Use arrow keys to scroll to "ABS-M DOT COUNT"
Press Copy.
Use arrow keys to reset count to zero.
Press OK.
Press Stop/Reset.

I get a warning that my "waste ink absorber almost full". How do I empty it?

Can you tell me what unit is your canon printer?

Because there are two ways to clear the waste ink absorber full in your printer.

First, is by actual cleaning of the ink absorber pads that is seated under the ink cartridges in its home base position. Remove the waste ink from the foam / pads by a running water.

Second, is by a reset procedure..but I cannot give you the exact reset procedure because you did not mention the model of your canon printer.

Please reply back so I can help you further.

Please rate this answer if were done with your solutions.
Thanks.

I am getting the warning "Ink absorber full". Is there anythinh I can do on a DIY basis?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Open the cover, move the cartridges to the centre, and then press the pad of absorbent paper towel onto the waste ink pads. You can locate the waste ink pads to the right of the cartridges. This will absorb a lot of ink in the pads and that will remove the warning after you reset the printer waste ink tank counter. You can reset your Canon Printer by following this procedure—

1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button 4 times for waste ink counter reset.
5) Turn off the printer.( it must be turn off) then turn it on again.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Ink waste absorber is full. Canon IP2000. How do I repair it?

Well, at some point you will need to either replace or wash the absorber pads in the printer - but you can reset the warning as follows:

1) Turn the printer off
2) Press and hold the <resume>button
3) Press and hold the <power> button
4) While holding down <power> release <resume>
5) With the power button still held down, press <resume> twice more
6) Release the power button
7) Press and release the <resume> button 4 times
8) Press and release the <power> button twice

At this point, the printer should come back online with the waste ink warning reset

Personally, I would only do this once before actually changing the ink absorber pad...
