Unfortunately, the RMT-D109A that comes with the DVP-S330 CD/DVD player (and possibly other models) will not control a Samsung TV with Smart functions. The RMT-D109A was probably programmed in 1999 (based on the copyright date of the manual). The first Smart TVs were not released until several years later. Universal remotes will only control devices that were released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.
You would be better off purchasing a new universal remote to control both the Samsung TV and the CD/DVD Player (or other device) controlled by the RMT-D109A.
The TV code lists for the RMT-D109A are page 49 of the DVP -S330 manual. This manual is available on the product support page: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=DVPS330&template_id=1®ion_id=1&tab=manuals#/manualsTab . The direct link to the manual is currently https://docs.sony.com/release//DVPS330.PDF .
Shorted power supply is the likely cause, but test it before you just throw a new board in, personally I would just replace the TV, just bought a 49" LG 4K for $278.00, the parts are likely going to cost more.
The code you are looking for is 1340. I have the same TV and my sky volume hasnt worked since I bought it, (9 months ago).. After spending an age on the SKY forum with no luck, I simply googled (Sky remote codes) and clicked on the 1st site, it's skyremotecodes.co.uk then Samsung 6000 series.... It told me the correct code and gave me clear instructions...... I hope this helps someone else.
Hi I had exactly the same problem with mine it worked the DVD player fine but not the TV even though previously it had worked both .......... Manual Guide In the manual guide I managed to dig out it says to do the following to set up the remote to work the TV
Press the TV button on the remote Then whilst holding down the power button you need to enter in the samsung TV codes until your TV turns off (I only got to the first and it did it) The numbers are 00, 15, 16, 17, 40, 43, 46, 47, 48, 49, 59, 60, 98
There are several different numbers to try. These are from my Samsung LCD manual. 00, 15, 16, 17, 40, 43, 46, 47, 48, 49, 59, 60, 98. One of these is for setting the remote control.
