Your vertical IC needs to be resoldered and change the capacitors in that immediate area. Always check for bad grounds [cracked rings around the pins, look real close to find] on any and all ICS mounted on heatsinks. And large resistors as well.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi rearTV has intermittent wavy lines running throughout

Do you have anything to test it in 1080i? Does it do it on all connections or just one? I had a similar problem with my TV that turned out to be a bad input board. Mine would only display 1080i through the Component connections. All others would show pink and green wavy lines. It cost me around 500 to fix it. Unplug the TV. Remove the back cover for the TV. Using a NON-metal object, or gloves, wiggle the input board (that has all the video connections on it) slowly back and forth and see if the problem comes and goes. You will have to have someone watching for you. If something is loose on that board, the problem should show itself. Narrowing down the problem will probably save you money on repair bills.

Resolders the FBT-(flyback tranformer).Resolders the video board connections sockets holes, that the board connected to the CRT-(tv tube).Plug in the tv,to have power to the tv,take out the tv video board, for exposer of the CRT-(tv tube).Take an electrical wire with a good insalation in it,grounded to the tv steel frame some where.Take the other end of the wire go toward the open high voltage CRT-(tv tube).U will hear a pop sound, than ur tv CRT-(tv tube) is a 100% clean out of contaminations or u will hear a deeing sounds only, mean the tv CRT-(tv tube) it is to old to pop anymore, just let tv deeing sounds going on for like about 20 mins to rejuvenated the old CRT-(tv tube). After this repluging the tv video board for a tv signal and readjust the button on the FBT-(flyback tranformer) that said focus to fix the CRT-(tv tube) focus problems.

Wavy horizontal lines across the screen

It sounds that the main power supply section to your TV has the fault. The horizontal thik lines that appears crawling down across the screen should be of video 'HUM'. Have you replaced the main filter capacitor at the power supply section? If not, replace it along with the main rectifier. The AC power is rectifed by a bridge and applied ot this main filter capcitor. It will have a capacitance value between 120 to 350MFD 450VDC. Check this section. Measure the rectifed DC voltage acorss this main filter capacitor. It should be around 350VDC, if your home power supply line is 220VAC. If it is 110AC, this DC voltage will be around 165VDC; and it should be. If rectified DC voltage found lower than the input AC voltage, replace the rectifier bridge. In some sets, this bridge section have four diodes. Some other circuits, a bridge rectifier stalk may be used.

Sony DVP-CX875P Remote Control sensor problem.

It could be that the remote is sending mixed signals if multiple buttons were accidently pressed at the same time. You can reboot the remote by removing the batteries, then while they are out, pressing all of the buttons on the front of the remote. This discharges the circuit board in the remote. Put the batteries back in and try it again.
Also, in case you don't have it, here is a link to the manual for that unit:

Wavy lines

Are the wavy lines horizontal or vertical? If they are horizontal and up near the top of the screen it could be 60HZ interference from a power cord running over the cable from the DVD player to the TV. There could also an internal breakdown of the shielding by the power supply of the DVD player. If the lines are vertical it is likely the cable or maybe the input jack on the TV. Could be a number of things.

Wavy Screen on Startup

I gather from your post that wavy can mean two possible things as the TV comes on, you see the picture flow like ocean waves? In this case you may have 60Hz hum modulating with the picture, this is actually unlikely these days, but I have heard it happens sometimes. The other thing it could be is light horizontal tearing. This happens when the horizontal frequency is too high or too low. You are not going to like my solution because I feel that for problems like this the set must be analyzed not just subjected to "shotgun troubleshooting", so here I go, Take the TV to a repair shop.
