I've gr-ax890u How do I remove a tape with no power

Remove battery
Press and HOLD Eject as you place battery back on (so its the first command it recognizes with power) and try to eject. If it does not come out, camera will need service to remove tape or fix gears

Please reset it.By removing the battery for 10min and then insert it back.Let me know the result.

try this:
remove the battery, then insert it. then try inserting your tape in.

Remove the battery and or the power supply (plug), leave it out for a few minutes, then reattach. This should solve your problem.

Eject tape leaving cover open and remove battery. Re-insert battery and re-insert tape also leaving cover open. Keep repeating this process until eo4 message disappears. This worked for my GR-DVL100e after about four repeats. After getting your camcorder operational, they say it is good practice not to leave tape in camcorder when not in use.

check whether the switches are jamed or not? did u try with the charger alone? there is no way u can get tape with out powering it up.

Unfortunately anything you do beyond pushing buttons will void the warranty so you can't open it up to remove the tape. The only way to manually get the tape out is to remove the cases and release the close mechanism. Since this voids the warranty don't do it. If it is under warranty it would seem to me that if you take it back to the store and/or send it in to the manufacturer with instructions that you would like the tape back they should honor that request.
