How to delete recordings from directv r16-300

Delete some of your recorded programming.

(1) You must have available space on the recorder. If it is full, you will need to delete enough programs to provide the room needed for the new recording.
(2) You also need to be subscribing to an entertainment program package that includes the channel that the show appears on.
(3) Depending on the service (Tivo, Directv, Dish, CableTV, etc.) there may be other requirements. The quickest response to get this resolved for you will be contacting the service provider (Tivo, Directv, Dish, CableTV, etc.)

You can record either the channel 3 or channel 4 output channel from the DirecTV box or connect the analog audio and video outputs to the recorder's inputs and use the In1 or In2 inputs.

These answers should be in the instruction manual.
If you've not got one go to the manufacturer's website, enter Customer Support or Technical Support and you'll find usually easy steps to follow to get a free download.

You will have to "Find space" by deleting something/anything to make "space" for "New" material. Basically it is trying to tell you the drive is filled up and ya need to either delete or cut & paste away to some other media, some data, to get more space to record more stuff. OK?

Probably just a glitch, have you unplugged the receiver for five minutes and then plugged it back in? That will usually initiate software downloads that can help resolve issues. If this doesn't work, call DirecTV. They can troubleshoot over the phone for free.

what you will need to do to correct this problem is delete the series recording. in your list (push list button) highlight the program you wish to delete, push select go to "rec. series" press select. and delete ALL push select... get "ok" message, select again. and reset receiver on front panel of receiver there is a door you can open, hit the red reset button and then setup your series record again by going into the guide and pressing record twice. this will fix the problem by deleting ALL of the series record and resetting, and resetting up series record

probably a dying hard drive, but could just be corruption, delete all effected recordings, monitor, if issue continues delete all recordings unplug receiver for 10 minutes, monitor new recordings if continues receiver may need to be replaced

I found unplugging it helped.  Problem with that is that sometimes it deletes newly recorded shows.

 

TiVO also plans for other upcoming shows in total recording time. So if you 12 hours recorded, and another 20 or so hours scheduled in upcoming all as don't delete, then it won't allow additonal shows manually
